West Indies Beaten by New Zealand in 4th ODI of series,2014

West Indies was scheduled to play a 5 Match ONE DAY International Series in New Zealand in 2014-15. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who will be crowned as the winner after the series as both are ranked at 4th and 5th. The 4th ONE DAY international match was to be played on Saxton Oval, Nelson, New Zealand on 4th Jan 2015.

New Zealand won the toss and opts to bat first; this is how New Zealand team and 11 was looking like in this 4th  ONE DAY international match: Brendon McCullum (c), Kyle Mills, Ross Taylor, Nathan McCullum, Jesse Ryder, Luke Ronchi (wk), Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Mitchell McClenaghan, Corey Anderson, James Neesham

 

And West Indies team and 11 was looking like this in this 4th  ONE DAY international Match: Dwayne Bravo (c), Darren Sammy, Narsingh Deonarine, Denesh Ramdin (wk),Lendl Simmons, Darren Bravo, Kieran Powell, Sunil Narine, Ravi Rampaul, Johnson Charles, Jason Holder

Rain interrupted match shortened to 21 over’s a side game.

New Zealand batted very well and was able to post total of 285 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 6 wickets and with top scores of M Guptill who made 81 runs in 119 balls with 4 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 68 runs in 100 balls and R Taylor who made 49 runs in 44 balls with 5 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 111 runs in 100 balls.

West Indies was needed to score 286 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

West Indies batted well but was unable to chase the score of 286 runs and was able to make only 134 in 33.4 over’s at the loss of 5 wickets and lost the game by 58 runs as rain interrupted the play and with application of D and L method WI is behind and top scores by L Simmons who made 43 runs in 48 balls with 6 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 90 runs in 100 balls.

New Zealand won the match by 58 runs and now this 5 Match ONE DAY international series stands at 2-2 with 1 more game to play.
