West Indies Beat Ireland in 2nd ODI of series, 2014

Ireland was scheduled to play a 3 Match ONE DAY International Series in West Indies in 2014. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as both are ranked at 7 and 9. The 2nd ONE DAY international match was to be played on Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies (Caribbean) on 24th Feb 2014. West Indies hold the upper hand as they are more experienced team and playing at home.

Ireland won the toss and opts to bat first; this is how West Indies team and 11 was looking like in this 2nd ONE DAY international match: Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy (c), Dwayne Smith, Marlon Samuels, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Lendl Simmons, K Pollard, Sunil Narine, K Powell, Andre Russell

Ireland did not bat well and was able to post total of only 190 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and with top scores of G Wilson who batted very well and made 40 runs in 50 balls with 3 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 80 runs in 100 balls, P Stirling who batted very well  and made 20 runs in 40 balls with 2 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 50 runs in 100 balls, Ed J who batted very well  made 20 runs in 20 balls with 2 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 100 runs in 100 balls faced, W Porterfield who batted very well  made 20 runs in 30 balls with 2 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 150 runs in 100 balls and K O Brien who made 20 runs in 10 balls with 0 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 200 runs in 100 balls, Extras contributed 20 runs with 0 byes, 2 leg byes, 15 wide balls, and 3 bowlers over stepped.

West Indies was needed to score 191 runs in 50 over’s to win this match at the run rate required of 3.82 runs per over.

West Indies batted well and was able to chase the score of 191 runs in 30.1 over’s at the loss of 4 wicket and won the game by 6 wickets in hand and top scores by K Pollard who batted very well and aggressively and made 60 runs in 30 balls with 7 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 200 runs in 100 balls , K powell who batted very well  and made 30 runs in 30 balls with 5 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 100 runs in 100 balls faced, D Smith who batted very well  and aggressively made 25 runs in 20 balls with 3 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 125 runs in 100 balls and D Bravo who batted well and made 20 runs in 10 balls with 1 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 200 runs in 100 balls faced  and extras contributed 8 runs with 0 byes, 8 leg byes, 0 wide balls, and no bowlers over stepped for no balls.

West Indies won the match by 6 wickets in hand and now this 3 Match ONE DAY international series stands at 2-0, in favor of West Indies with 1 more game to play but West Indies already won the series.
