Weddings have become more of a material thing than it is personal, I have watched them on television and i have also had an opportunity to attend some very exclusive weddings.
I have come to a conclusion that it is not about love anymore, people are doing big weddings so that they can prove a point or so that they can be a notch higher that their friends wedding.
Weddings have become a symbol of popularity and fame. everybody wants to make an impression to everyone and i wonder is it really about that or is it about how we feel.
Back in the days weddings were very simple yet sophisticated and personal, but that has changed. Nowadays you will find people spending so much on the wedding, the flowers,decor, cars you name it, do people at this point really think about the days after the wedding? there is usually so much that you need to think about. Is it really worth it?
I just think that weddings should be simple yet elegant and personal, that should be enough to make the whole thing happen an everyone is happy. also the other thing is that after all is said and done and thousands of dollars spent, you start having problems in the marriage and before you know it there is a divorce coming up, so what would you rather do?

We mistake marriage for weddings, we spent so much on the weddings and forget the marriage, marriage is the main thing, here in my country, we are so guilty of this.
Some can even get a loan for the wedding, after the wedding, the couple start to suffer, of what relevance is that. We buy a very expensive wedding gown that after the wedding, we can't wear again.
We need to think and start taking things that important seriously.
