Shalini talks to Harinam

The delicious Cheese burger and the Blueberry Pastry could not get Shalini’s mind away from what she saw two hours back. Ankit was enjoying every moment- the Movie, the feast afterwards, oblivious to what was happening around him.
And then Shalini saw Harinam.
She ran and just managed to get hold of Harinam, who was about to exit the Food Court.
Harinam took a seat opposite Shalini and ordered a lemonade just to give company to Shalini.
Shalini told all that she had seen that evening to Harinam.

Harinam knew that she was serious. ‘Look, Shalini. There is nothing going on between the two of them. Just a little bit of healthy flirting, I’d say.’

‘Healthy flirting? Really Harinam . . .’. I don’t think that such a thing can exist between a married man with kid and another woman!
‘I wonder if he has slept with her?’
‘No Shalini, it is nothing like that. From what you have seen, we need to ask Devendra and Kavya to step back and be responsible. I will talk to Devendra tomorrow.’

‘No, let me handle on my own.’ Shalini was not fully satisfied and was still a bit suspicious that Harinam was perhaps hiding something.

A confrontation on the cards?

It rained a little that morning. Thankfully, the roads were not water-logged, and the cool breeze made it very pleasant. Yet that weather was not enough to pacify Shalini. She wasn’t sure how that day would end. Yet, there could be something that might change her whole life. She was a bundle of nerves, and very very angry inside.
It was 7:50, and time to drop Ankit to the school bus stop, which was around 5 mins drive away.

8:00 A.M: Shalini had dropped Ankit and had figured out what she would be asking Devendra, who left home by 9. It was going to be tough for her, but it was necessary.
Suddenly, she had a glance on the envelope that she had kept in the car. That was a letter in their mailbox, that she had picked in the morning. She had a urge to look at it. It was addressed to Devendra.
Overcoming the protests inside her mind, she tore open the tape and begin reading the letter.
