Let’s accept the fact that India is facing shortage of healthy food due to different reasons and one of them is increasing population and the other one is change in climate. We are witnessing abnormal weather conditions in different part of the country causing floods or droughts due to untimely heavy rains or no rain in rainy season.
India still mainly depends upon monsoon for agriculture and the changing pattern of monsoon has affected the food production adversely. Let’s accept the fact that man has done lot of harm to the environment and a changed pattern in our food and dietary habit is the only solution to our safe existence.
Let’s accept the fact that changing environment is making a big difference on our health and to cope with the changes we should bring changes in our dietary habits too. Lets’ also accept it that most of the diseases we suffer from these days are cause of contamination in what we eat. So, what can we do best to save health of 50% of our population which is still undernourished is that we should change our dietary habits and grow the variety that needs lesser water.
It was not so long ago that seafood was considered one of the healthiest foods but not anymore in our part of the world at least. Being a Punjabi I was not regular seafood consumer but I personally stopped eating all no vegetarian including my favorite chicken and eggs.
Lets accept it that what we eat has a big role in our wellbeing therefore, the time has come when we give it a serious thought what we eat and what we give up. To cope with the changes in atmosphere we shall have to add food items like wheat, pearl millet, Bengal gram, lentils and other pulses, rice, vegetables and fruits as replacement for non vegetarian food.

Sorry to hear about the situation in your country due to climate change and drought. They really affect a country badly. I saw one blog here having the people forced to drink boko juice instead of colas due to health factors. Thanks for sharing your nice blog.
I totally agree that we all must change our eating habits. Eating healthy is a sure way of staying alive. I'm about going for a health check to know my status, the last one done was in 2011. I was a clean state of health, I felt good. Over the years, I have now changed my eating habits, from drinking coke to water, eating junk to veggies etc. I pray to come out clean, I need to be alive for my kids. Although eating healthy seems kind of expensive, but I purchase what is affordable and follow that route.
