Hi readers! Let’s Talk about Walking! Such a great and easy exercise to do and it holds so many benefits too! Here are some reasons why everyone should take a walk. Let’s get moving!
Here are some reasons you should walk everyday…
Everyone talks about the benefits of exercising, but not everyone might have access to a gym or a cardio machine. Walking, on the other hand, has many benefits to your body and health in general that are often ignored by many people when thinking of exercising. Being less strenuous than running, walking is easy for those of you who might have problems with knees or bones and even for pregnant women. Walking is also good for the beginner exercise person or those who have stopped for a long time and want to get back to moving. Here are some reasons why you should walk on a daily basis.
Walking reduces your chance of diabetes–There are some studies to show that walking regularly can have a positive impact on your health including improving your sensitivity to insulin. Despite being hereditary, many with history of diabetes have also noticed the difference. Walking is a great way to keep your blood sugar down.
Walking can save your money!–Changing your exercising routine from a gym membership to walking will allow you to save a lot of money. Gym memberships are expensive especially if all you do is using cardio machines. Research has shown that walking increases your blood flow, reduces your stress levels and hence your chances of getting cardiovascular diseases, essentially giving you similar benefits to cardio exercise. The difference is that all you need to do is get outside and find a quiet street or a walking trail.
Walking can help reduce the need for medication–There is evidence to show that people who take long walks on a regular basis are less likely to use medication. If you can only take shorter walks, try to take a longer one once or twice a week. You should feel the difference.
Walking helps with Fibromyalgia pain–Many people suffer from this kind of pain. This chronic condition affects a chunk of the population causing pain, brain fog and chronic fatigue. Many people with this condition have reported significant improvement in their mental health and improved their level of physical activities after they got on an 18-week walking plan.
Walking can help reduce the risk of Breast cancer–Research shows that women who are used to walking are 30% more likely to survive if they are diagnosed by breast cancer. It is also beneficial for breast cancer survivors as it increases their chances of recovery after the diagnosis and reduces the chances that the cancer recurs.
Walking reduces strokes and cardiovascular diseases–Such diseases are often associated with people who have low activity levels. Like any other exercise, walking will improve your heart rate, blood flow and reduce your stress levels. It might also help you lose weight. All of these reasons contribute to significantly reducing your risks of cardiovascular diseases.
So get up and get walking! The weather is great right now in the Spring and Summer!
