Using water for health benefits

Hello Everyone!

Water is indeed one of the most important necessities of human life. Still we have developed many misconceptions about it. Let us understand them all. But first, I shall discuss some most important facts about water.

Human composition

Human body is 67% water. Our body has mechanism to keep track of water level, we need water as soon as the percentage drops by 1%. Humans become thirsty as soon as water level drops by 1%. However, if we ignore that, the level drops even further.

If level of water in your body is below 57%, then you might die. Therefore, it is required to maintain a predefined level.

Water as temperature regulator

Water helps to regulate body temperatures too. The primary reason why people die due to extensive heat is because of less water intake. Taking water is always recommended to hydrate yourself.

·        In the morning, take water after getting up. Not only this boosts digestion but also curbs bad breadth. All the impurities of your mouth are taken away. Once you have taken water, you can proceed for routine works like brushing your teeth. If possible, you can take it in copper vessels. However, there is no hard and fast rule.

·        You should take water half an hour before meals. This will relax your stomach and start hydration process. Also, it can curb excess appetite thus putting obesity in check.

·        After meals, water is like poison. After meals, digestion starts which involve reaction of food with oxygen thus igniting it. Water is the biggest enemy of ignition (the only fire which continues to grow even after arrival of water is the electrical fire) and stops digestion in that case. If you need water, take it drop by drop only (it is poison after all)

·        Water consumption at night should be half the value during day. This ensures sound sleep which is another good tool for health.

I adopted these 4 steps and reduced the probability of felling ill. You too can try.

    • i do appreciate your recommendation of using water in the right quantity at the right time. But I have my reservations of drinking water before a meal. As per my knowledge it dilutes acids in the stomach which will interfere with digestion.

You are right. Water dilutes acid but this dilution only partly interferes with digestion. Secondly, I am not telling you to take meals immediately post consuming water. I allowed you to wait for half an hour so that this water can settle. Once it is settled, you can go for your meals.

    • My problem with taking water in the morning immediately after you wake up is that when we are asleep our mouths secrete saliva, which may settle on the tongue we know that the tongue can also carry bacteria not to mention our gums and teeth, so when we take water in the morning before brushing our teeth don't you think we are drinking away all the bacteria from the mouth into the stomach? those are just my thoughts on that but I think the rest of what you have shared makes perfect sense thanks for sharing.

      • We must rinse our mouth before drinking some water to get rid of all the bacteria present inside our mouth. (You may consider some mouth wash for this purpose). I second you in this connection. Drinking water before our breakfast must not be recommended in winter season.

    • OK! OK! OK! I'm gonna drink more water! :) My kids always tease me about not drinking enough water. They mean I in a nice way. I'm drinking more H2O these days. Y'all can thank the Texas for that! Before or after meals does not matter. Whew! Texas heat is a beast! :)
