Understanding leadership

Hello Everyone!

World is getting into a dangerous scenario. Donald Trump insults Hillary Clinton on daily basis. Hillary too resorts on personal attacks. Thank GOD! – USA has only 2 political parties. Imagine the case if they had many political parties like Asian democracies. For India, the largest democracy – there are 100+ political parties. They do resort on personal attacks more dangerous than USA.

But, do we seriously need a leader who spends his day and night accusing others of every problem? I don’t think so.

Whatever be the reason, leaders should not resort to personal attacks. World should choose their leaders wisely. We cannot rely on that leader who always goes for victimization for no valid reason.

As rightly said – a leader is not that who finds a scapegoat to blame, a leader is he who takes the blame and tries to correct what went wrong.

Not only politics, but this leadership trait is required everywhere. Democratic leaders simply get away with this blame game but others don’t. Leadership is led by example. It isn’t led by allegations.

How a leader manages

Consider the scenario – something is going bad. Your team is suffering from some problem – the problem can be anything ranging from internal to external. You cannot blame opposition every time. Your competitor hates you (isn’t that obvious?) and you must show your worth. You cannot prove your worth by insulting others.

Let us see what should be done whenever something wrong happens.

The leader introspects

He tries to see what exactly went wrong from unbiased manner rather than blaming others. He sees his team as his own and hence there is no point of not considering his team mates as his own. Regarding competitor, the leader thinks of right solution intellectually rather than via physical assaults OR using baseless allegations. No one trusts that person who keeps on blaming any problem on others. So, the leader introspects and finds out what went wrong. He then formulates the right strategy.

A leader accommodates

The leader does not believe in taking the credit for all success and blaming others for all problems. He rather thinks of his team on a high regard. At the same time, it is his responsibility to motivate his team every now and then.

So, the leader also accommodates. He knows where his team is going wrong. He is ready to take the charge and lead his team to success.

It is clear that a true leader does not believe in dirty politics and is the actual one who wants his team to be successful despite all odds. Be the leader.

    • Who do you think matches all those parameters that you have outlined, right from the time this system started? I cannot find any.

    • These rules apply for me in politics, business and work, personal life, etc. I am usually willing to follow or to be led by a leader who doesn't expect me to do something they are not willing to do themselves. When I say “do something”, I am not talking about an act that is illegal, unethical, or immoral. Because in that case, if they are willing to do such things and want to try to lead me down the same path, they can take a hike! Saw the featured image for this post and had to stop by. :)

    • Politicians today or even before always have that attitude of blaming and blaming and blaming. When they've done wrong, they look into someone to point out their fingers.
How pity the world is. It is full of leaders who have nothing to do but busy perfuming their selves and pulling other leaders down.
