Two Fatal Mistakes Employers Make

Mistake One

Underpaying.

When an employee feels underpaid they ‘top up’ their salaries. They steal, they unwork, (which is different from not working) and they waste a lot of time so that they can feel … “Okay Cheapskate! You should pay me 3X but are paying me 2X which means I work 1/3rd less than my 40 hours. “

So, the employee who feels under paid breaks the computer so that the boss has to repair it. The aggrieved worker secretly messes up something so that a particular job can not be completed or it has to be reworked, redone.

The resentment of underpaid workers may cause them to sabotage the business.

Even if they don’t blow up the supply room, they will be resentful and will take as many sick days, late days, missing days as they can.

Mistake Two

Dictator

Persons who suffer inferiority complexes, (because they are inferior) try to lord over their employees. They don’t act as a ‘boss’ or ‘employer’ they act as a slave master. They will shout as if they are going for the bull whip. This makes the employees hate them. Even if well paid, they will unwork. This is to release the hatred they feel for the boss.

To Do…

To gain the respect and loyalty of a worker, make them feel cherished and over paid. If you can’t pay them more than standard wage,  give them a shorter working day; for example, 7 hours.

If that is a problem, give them half day on Friday or Wednesday. They will work harder during their shorter day than they would if worked over time.

Give them vacations, so that they can take care of their personal business have down time and return, knowing that no other company would give them so much off time.

You might be able to get them health coverage, or some other benefit which makes the employees want to keep the job.

An employee who wants to keep a job will work harder and better.
