Tough President Doing Sense of Duty – Duterte

Duterte As A president

Duterte is a tough President. This is how I regard him after I heard him addressing the men in the uniform during the anniversary of Philippine Air Force. He said that he was compelled to divulge these high ranking police officers for their involvement in the illegal drugs proliferation. He was doing his sense of duty as pointed out.

While I was watching tonight’s news on our TV, the new President of the Philippines Rody Duterte with no holds bar made mentioned in the public the five generals who are allegedly protectors of drug lords. He had ordered them to be relieved from their position to commence investigation until they are proven guilty.

Duterte named the 5 Philippine National Police (PNP) generals during the 69th anniversary of the Philippine Air Force in Clark, Pampanga, on Tuesday, July 5. Two of these generals are already retired in the service. One is Vicente Loot who is recently elected mayor of Daanbantayan, Cebu.

These police generals are as follows:

1. Retired Deputy Director General Marcelo Garbo Jr

2. Former National Capital Region Police Office director Chief Superintendent Joel Pagdilao

3. Former Quezon City Police District Office director Chief Superintendent Edgardo Tinio

4. Former Western Visayas police chief Chief Superintendent Bernardo Diaz

5. Retired Chief Superintendent Vicente Loot, who is now mayor of Daanbantayan, Cebu.

As to his reaction, Loot told the media that he is going to clear his name before he would be tried in publicity.

You see that is how tough and determined our country’s president to deal with those involved in illegal trade of drugs. He will talk to them personally in his office.

These could be considered as the big fishes caught during the first 100 days of President Duterte. The people are expecting more of them to be arrested within the 6-month target of the President to clean up the country from the menace of drugs abused.

In the same news development, 32 PNP members, including the unit head Chief Inspector Roberto Razon, of the Quezon City Police District’s (QCPD) Anti-Illegal Drug Unit were relieved and they would be assigned to the different provincial units in Mindanao, according to National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

With this speedy action against the drug lord protectors by the President, I am beginning to develop a firm faith in him that he could accomplish his promise during his election campaign period to get rid the country of criminality in all forms, drugs, and graft and corruptions in the various government agencies.

Killings and arrest of drug pushers are getting great in numbers every day as reported in the news. The first 100 days of the President haven’t been over yet. There would be more reported surrenders and arrest of those persons who are involved in the illegal drug business.

The police would be cleansed of those bad eggs. They had already been subjected to a drug test and those who are found to be positive of drug using would be dealt properly, and even to the extent of dismissing them from the service and charging them to court.

The  days are numbered of those shenanigans in the Philippine National Police.

    • He seems so tough right now. I hope he can sustain his way of controlling things. There are so many things to dealt with. I hope employment rate should be increased in our country. Most of our brilliant fellowmen are moving across the countries. The old administration didn't achieve this goal. Hopefully, he can have the chance to give attention on this.

    • Change is coming. We learn thru President DU30 that Philippines has numerous drug addicts and drug lords. I hope that PNP Chief Bato can eliminate crimes in 3 to 6 months. So many drug-lords and users dead this time.He is a very tough President and he will surely do what is right for or countrymen,

    • Although we have found and shut down many big drug lords, there is still a ton out there. I support doing everything we can do to stop these drug lords and stop the drugs from getting out on our streets and maybe saving lives, but I do not think the drug game will ever end. They will only get smarter about it and get away with it longer. A lot of the help comes from the people we trust such as the military or police officers, some of these people are the ones keeping the shipments under the radar. I support trying to put a stop to this but I dont think we should put a high expectation up thinking that we will end the whole drug game because that just is not going to happen.
