Sharks Are Most Dangerous.. Really??

If you think that sharks are the most dangerous predator after watching the famous movie Jaws, then you will be surprised to know that its not sharks but  the killer whale is the most dangerous predator. The killer whale is not a whale but in reality is a member of the dolphin family and it feeds on large sharks.

 

 

 

An another amazing fact about sharks is that a female shark can give birth to a baby shark without the need of a male DNA i.e. by using the process of parthenogenesis. The parthenogenesis process implies that the female sharks can reproduce without a male shark i.e. similar to hatching of unfertilized eggs.

An another interesting fact about sharks is that sharks can never get cancer due to the presence of a chemical called squalamine in sharks. This chemical called squalamine helps the sharks in  battling tumors. Hence this squalamine chemical present in sharks, is being considered by some doctors to be a cure for cancer.

 

 

 

The fourth amazing fact about sharks busts the myth that a shark would die if it stops swimming. It is observed that buccal pumping method which is used by some of the sharks can help them to breathe even when they are resting.

 

 

 

The fifth and last amazing fact about Sharks revolves around the movie Jaws. The horror movie Jaws helps burn the maximum amount of calories in comparison to any other horror movies. It is observed that horror movies such as Jaws result in an increase in human heartbeat which results in burning more calories.

      It does make my heart beat faster with this thought.
