Looking after a small child can be challenging. Especially once they become toddlers, some of them become easily bored. Because of this, it is important for parents to be a little bit creative when it comes to thinking of activities to allow their kids to spend the day with.
Some parents think that it is overly expensive to keep their kids entertained. Others, commit the grave mistake to keep them preoccupied with TV or gadgets. While it is really easy to keep them content and less whiny if they have these things, did you know that it does their health (mental health included) more harm than good?
So if you are a parent like me, here are some of the things you can try to let your kids do. It may not be enough to keep them entertained the entire day but it is a lot better than letting them watch TV for the whole day for sure!
It is really handy these days to have lots of bloggers willing to share their DIY tips and hacks around the home. It allows the not-so-creative parents to get a few ideas to do around the house.
But if you think you don’t want to fiddle with all the DIY tips and tricks to let your child play with, the basic arts and crafts things used in school would do the trick, too! Buy some crayons or cheap watercolor from a budget store. For the paper, allow your child to use some old pieces of paper, scratch pad, or even an old appliance box! Just make sure you are ready for the messy day ahead! Let your child wear an apron to protect his/her clothes or use a clothing that is OK to get soiled. If you can afford it, there are lots of “washable” coloring tools available these days that you can buy, too.
Nothing beats the entertainment value of letting your child roam free outside the house. Especially if the weather is nice and warm, it is the best way to keep your little one entertained without needing any gadgets. You might be surprised to see that your child won’t like it when it’s time to go home!
Just make sure that if you decide to step outside to play, you are ready for the essentials. Bring an extra pair of clothing, food, and water to keep your little one hydrated. He/she might not notice it but it pays to have these things handy the moment he/she approach you to take a bite or have a sip! Also, your little one will likely touch everything he/she sees – no matter how dirty it is! So bring some alcohol-based products (ie alcogel, baby wipes) to remove germs from your little one’s hands on-the-go. But be sure to wash his/her hands when you get home. These are easy-to-use hack when outdoors but nothing beats the good old soap and water!

I think let the children follow their birth trends to be a good members of society and thus they make their future bright and become creative future generation. Those who do not follow birth trends may not be good citizen of any country that become rebellious. Give proper attention to the children the child may grow a civilized citizen useful for coming generation.
Tracking children talent is most important thing checking their birth trend keep them in that trends that be according to their trends. JH Sayyar
I do believe all kids have their own talents and it is our role as their parents to help nurture it. Of course, there are some kids who may be a bit more challenging than the others so parents need to be more focused and patient dealing with kids like that.
The main thing with taking care of young children is to get them into a routine. Especially, if you have more than one youngster that you're taking care of. It encourages discipline and you have less behavioral problems with them. { It works with most kids. Every once in a while you may give birth a “defiant one”. In that case, you pray extra! :) } This is what I learned watching my husband. At one point, I was working outside the home and he was a stay-at-home dad, working part-time jobs and pursuing his college degree. He needed to have his own time. He had our little ones into a regular schedule:
~ a run around and play time (indoors or outdoors),
~ a sit down play time,
~ a sit down and learn time (art, reading, writing, watch educational TV shows, etc.),
~ a do some household chores time (pick up toys, be Daddy's helper, etc.),
and, of course,
~ a lay down and take a nap time! :)
He also taught them to take care of each other. :)
Aaahh yes! Those were good old days! Sweet memories. :) My oldest is almost 40 now!
Wow, that's amazing and I think you will just look back fondly on those memories. I agree that putting them in a routine can help but there are some kids who have their own way of doing things, I suppose. LOL! My son moderately follows the routine we set for him. Probably not in the best way possible as he still relies on me for a lot of things but I just let it be since he is the only one we have for now anyway :)
There are many ways that we can use to make our children busy but we have to be very careful in terms of selection. Now a days media advanced we have computers, laptops, different games even on television so many channels for the mind development of children.I feel it is the duty of parents to guide their child to the right direction.create different sort of interest so the child enjoy and learn at the same time.
I try to limit my son's exposure to tablet, mobile phones, and TV - it is hard not to let them have it since we are bombarded with all these things anyway. But I do encourage him to do natural play so I only allow him to use any of these for only about 30 minutes to 1 hour per day. There are some days when he might watch a little bit beyond that but knowing the limit and having set a personal timer for him works in most days.
Because of children's playfulness, we news to be creative in capturing their short attention span. Every child has their own way passion and interest. As their parents, we need to be always supportive. For instance, if a child aiming to be a pianist, then we need to consider of letting them enroll in music school. We just need to learn and understand what a child's desire. It is a win win situation. The child had his or her interest activity and parents will definitely feel rewarding.
