No country opens its borders without some serious organisation of data collection. No organisation opens itself to acceptance of applicants without pre-requisites.
If, for example, a hurricane destroys all the houses in the town and the Government is going to rehouse those people, there is a process in which addresses are checked. This is to prevent people who don’t reside in that area, or who suffered no loss taking premises from those who are deserving.
There is no ‘border crossing’ here, there is no expectation of terrorism, but those in charge want to prevent undeserving people, and those who might be criminals or runaways being able to benefit.
I use this simple explanation to cast a spotlight on the behaviour of Angela Merkel.
It is clear that she is a career politician who wants that next term. That she has performed all her actions during this term in the attempt to garner the ‘brownie points’ to insure her re-election. The major action, was, of course, the flinging open of borders to make the world believe that Germany is such a wonderful place.
It is clear that there was no planning. There was no real organisation. This was a hair-brained scheme designed to impress. A scheme methodological people as the Germans do not imagine. Hence, there is no other explanation than that it was done for political mileage.
A plan would be, for example, to have a nation like Turkmenistan or Kazakhstan put aside a large piece of land and then put up containers and water supplies and electricity generators, and take in a batch of migrants. The able bodied would be employed building a refugee camp and more would be brought in as space allowed.
While at the camp, the migrants would be vetted and placed in Germany, so that there would be a ‘trickle’ of immigrants into Germany, placed in various cities, well organised. Sensible.
But that did not happen.
The borders were flung open and every other terrorist ran to Germany.
Germany, demanding other nations take some met Brexit. And Brexit might not be the first.
What caused Germany to make this ridiculous gesture, (which it is now paying for, i.e. Cologne, i.e. Berlin and will continue to pay) was not ‘humanitarian’ but was raw politics. There was no plan. It was pure show boating.
The Far Right in Germany has been handed a gift. The average person views Merkel and her Party as erratic and unorganised.
As time passes one can expect more terrorism, because if/when Merkel is out of office and replaced by the Far Right, it will not be as easy to get in, to get around, and to commit crimes when Islamaphobia becomes rampant.
