In 2006 a movie by that name was released.
It is the story of two absolutely average people who took part in a top secret hibernation project.
The man was an Army Private, the woman, a prostitute who was obtained by the man in charge of the project from her pimp.
Seeing the benefit of pimping, he started his own stable and was arrested.
His experiment was forgotten for 500 years.
The two are woken when a huge garbage pile collapses on where they are being kept, and they awake into a world of idiots.
Considering how stupid the average person has become, these two people, Joe, (the private) Rita, (the prostitute) are the most incredibly intelligent people on Earth.
Hearing the debate between Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump on the BBC I was astounded with how stupid he was for a human being.
Just looking at him any respectable person would be ashamed to have him as leader of a Scout Troop, much less a country.
Hearing him say nothing in his bit baby voice, he was ridiculous.
Yet, many Americans fully support him.
Which causes me to return to the movie.
The human population has become morbidly stupid, speaks low registers of English, are anti-intellectual.
Joe winds up in prison for he doesn’t have a bar code. Rita, a survivor, returns to her previous profession. Joe is given an IQ test and proves to be the most intelligent person alive.
It is clear the movie was rather a foretale of things to come. Where even here, in the 4th World, people are intelligent enough to notice that Trump doesn’t answer questions, doesn’t have a plan, repeats palliatives; “Make America Great Again!” and gets cheered.
I have previously written about the ‘dumbing down’ of populations which I have noticed.
The fact a High School today is not yet teaching at the level of a 6th grade in Primary school as the curriculum has been so ‘modified’.
That Donald Trump can gain such high position proves that people are stupider today then they were forty years ago.
Despite all the ‘tech’ people use it to chase imaginary creatures, post pictures of themselves on Facebook, and before looking up information they don’t know, play mindless games.

Maybe, the next metaphor would be Dumb And Dumber. People have preferences. There is a reason why they choose Trump, maybe they are too tired of having politicians, too much politics is not good, its entertaining.
Well, you see, I'm no America so this is just an opinion.
In my country a stupid bully like that would be laughed off the stage. Not that Jamaica is so brilliant but we are certainly brighter than Americans.
