The Contemporary Church Is Drifting Away…..

The contemporary church is drifting from the tenets of the early church where The Apostle Paul advised wives thus,” For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. What? Came the word of God out from you? Or came it unto you only? (1st Corinthians 14:33-36). Many wives who have religious arrogance and intolerance will not like to acknowledge the above scripture, but truly the above mentioned verses are the conditions given to wives by the scripture. What we see nowadays is that our ministers help to use some wives to disorganize the family structure, sacrificing the peace of the husband and wife on the altar of greed and fake spiritual direction. For example, “In 1999, Mrs.Helen, a wife who was a mother of a seven month old baby boy left her baby to the care of her house maid and was in a night vigil ,the baby developed convulsion in the night at home and before she could be reached, the nurses gave the baby boy an injection, within minutes, the baby boy died. Till date Mrs. Helen has no male child. She has tried all at her disposal to have a male child, but she has five females now. Her husband has threatened to marry another wife since she lost the family’s only opportunity to have a male child.” There are many examples of the losses caused by religious arrogance and intolerance. Men who are real masters of their families curb this menace and take their ground at the family altar. This is because some men are weak in prayers and backward in the things of God. When their wives notice the lapses from their husbands, they usurp it. The priestly position of the man in the family is reserved for the husband of the family. Remember, “it is easy to drink with the monkey, but the great task is to get back the cup back from the monkey”I am not saying that wives are monkeys,rather men should not abdicate their responsibilities of leading their families to God in devotion.
