The Bleeding of my heart for Nigeria

Seriously, my heart bleeds!
Nobody is absolving politicians of the misery and woes that betide our society. However, they are not the only set of culprits on the issue on probe. We all have our portions of the blame to share.
Man makes the society. Politicians are not spirits: they are products of the society. A society does not come by accident. Every family unit forms the core of the society. The family is like a factory that produces goods for the market. Good products can only come from a good factory. And a bad company churns out bad products. What do you think happens when parents_ who are supposed to be care givers and thought edifiers_ abdicate their primary responsibilities to external influencers? Disaster! Let every family unit resort to the drawing board, and plan for the lives of their children.
Many of these children engaging in vile and criminal acts are products of broken homes and bad parenting. Our failings at the home front have summed up to be a hydra-headed monster; which is now defying all solutions. Let us all retrace our steps to establish a peaceful and crime-free society.

s Nigeria A Pariah State?
The practice of condemning and punishing a person by mob action without a proper trial is sickening. Jungle justice is an anathema. How on earth will some wicked souls gather to lynch and set ablaze a lad; who in some news media was touted to be a 7-year-old boy. This gruesome murder is unNigerian.
In legal parlance, this is termed lynch law. It is wrong and ungodly. In some quarters, the boy was reported to have stolen a handset, not some measures of garri. Whatever the poor boy might have stolen, mob action is not the solution. It cannot even serve the purpose of deterrence to curtail others who are neck-deep in the vile act of pick-pocketing and stealing. Though, these misguided youngsters are also ruthless while in their despicable act: they can kill and maim in order to escape being apprehended.
Understandably, Nigerians are passing through hard times. The recession is unleashing its hard and excruciating knocks on the economic well-being of many Nigerians. Nonetheless, setting people ablaze is not the right step, and can never be justifiable.
Nigeria is an entity governed by certain laws and edicts. We need not take laws into our hands. No matter how bad our legal and criminal justice system may be, we should be aware there is a constituted authority, and that authority is the government. Nigeria should not be turned into a pariah state. Let’s uphold and respect the laws of the land. God bless Nigeria.

    • the awful act was gleefully perpetrated during the day. I can no more comprehend the extent of our people's cruelty. How does burning people correspond to whatever they might have pilfered? I'm afraid we are fast drifting towards being a failed state. What has happened to our human feelings and compassion for fellow Nigerians? This single dastardly act says a lot on the psyche of an average Nigerian. Our law enforcement agencies need to be proactive and be alive to their duties. Those caught in the web of this wickedness must arrested, prosecuted and sanctioned appropriately.
