The Best Sites to Watch Free Online

I have been asked, often, for the best site to watch television programmes online.   My response is not straight forward.

Firstly, every site goes down now and then.  This could be a joint attack by commercial interests.  This might be the ‘owner’ of the ‘copyright’, this might be a rival site, or this might be some random hacker who has nothing better to do.

Secondly, to insure a seamless journey, you should have a number of different sites you can go to, one after another.  There is ALWAYS another site.

In 1990 maybe there was one site that had a Woman’s Fora, or one site that dealt with Star Trek, but considering that the Internet goes from .af which is in Afghanistan to .zw which is Zimbawe, there must be some site which has your program.

Many nations have no ‘copyright’ law or any law which can be enforced which would cover a television program aired in the United States or Britain.

Hence, the last episode of Sherlock which was aired on television was actually available The Day Before on the Internet.

The site I like the best is 123movies.is.    They have movies, they have television serials, and the way they set up their site is almost ideal.

Another popular site is watchepisodes1.net which links to watchepisodeseries.com and watchseries.cr.   These are very useful as going to their front page gives you the latest releases of the most popular television series.

This is important when you are following a current series and want to see the most recent episode.

The wisest step is to pop into a search engine; “Watch Television programs Free on line.”   The word ‘Free’ needs to be there because many sites want you to pay them to view the episode.  You don’t have to.

Let us be extremely honest.

When it comes to American programs they are paid for by the commercials. An hour program is usually between 43 and 47 minutes long.   This is to allow between 17 and 13 minutes for commercial breaks.

Before the Internet the show would be aired with the commercials and then either re-run over the summer break, or sold in syndication to various minor stations.   Hence, that episode was paid for.

It may have been paid for six or seven or sixty or seventy times already, so you are not ‘ripping’ off anyone.   There is no real sense to pay any Internet company to watch such a program.

British shows are paid for by the subscribers to the station, so were paid for already.  If one of those people decides to copy the show and post it on one of those sites, well, what exactly is the charge one would level, even if one knew who it was?

Where 123movies.is has its own servers, many of the others use various servers such ad vidtzi.me or likeafool.com to host the program.   Users upload to these sites, (among others).

When you go to a site like watchepisodes.com you will have a list of the various servers.  Some work better than others, some don’t work at all.  Some demand you register, some don’t.   You use what is free and works.

Sometimes one will hack one of the sites, i.e. likeafool was hacked a few days ago and no matter what program selected it would run some idiot comedy show.  This only lasted a day or so before it was rectified.

Understand this… there is ALWAYS another site.  This one doesn’t work, keep going.  Keep searching. You’ll find the site, the episode, and watch at your pleasure.

    • Good information. I,personally, like to watch the old TV shows and programs. Websites are good but now companies are focusing on apps. There are many apps available in which you can see old movies, shows and even cartoons. Hulu is, also, available in apps and most of the new TV shows are available. So, the field is wide for anyone to see TV and does not have to spend a fortune. Cable TV will soon have to change or lose money because customers are wiser and know that there are alternatives to TV and movie watching.

      • I've been watching free online for a long time. I pay no fee, I belong to no site. I have a TV yes, but only use it to watch the news and one South African soapie.
