Tesco Multigrain Crackers (Review)

Crackers

These are one of the things we can’t live without at home. I think we have tried a number of variants over the past years and I am still surprised at the various options sprouting from the grocery aisles every time I do our weekly grocery shopping.
I don’t really mind buying items from grocery brands since they are a lot cheaper. Especially with a very common item like crackers, I can’t think of any logical explanation why I would prefer to buy a pack of crackers that is twice the amount of money I’d spend on these grocery branded options?
Tesco is a supermarket giant over here and that’s also the place where I buy most of our food items every week. I bought a lot of cracker variants from Tesco and for this review, I will talk about the multi-grain option.

I regularly buy the plain, water crackers that cost merely €0.26 but decided I’d spend a little bit more to try this out. If I am not mistaken , one box of Tesco multigrain crackers is priced at more than a Euro (can’t remember the exact amount, sorry!).
I love multigrain because of the added fiber. I don’t believe it is A LOT healthier than the “normal” variants but to me, the added source of fiber makes it worthwhile to try and eat.
Unlike the plain water crackers I buy typically, the crackers are packaged in a box and wrapped in plastic. It is a lot convenient to buy boxed items especially for things like crackers to avoid turning into crumbs inside the trolley or grocery bag. I guess the additional amount of money I paid for went to the packaging since the plain water crackers were just packed in plastic?
When it comes to taste, of course, the multigrain option tastes better than the plain water crackers. For one, these crackers are saltier and the texture almost similar to Ritz crackers – which is a lot more expensive than Tesco’s!
I don’t finish an entire bag in one sitting so a pack can last us for a couple of weeks up to a month. The resealable flap in the box definitely helps to keep the crackers remain crispy even after opening. Of course, it helps a lot more if you place it in an airtight container after opening instead.
Overall, I have bought the multigrain option a number of times before but not as often as the plain variants from Tesco. I noticed that the multigrain option is a lot better to pair up with cheese but not as good if eaten with cured meat like parma ham or mortadella. Probably because the crackers are already salted/seasoned and to pair it up with something salty as well makes the taste a little bit overwhelming. There are a few more options for crackers by Tesco and I can’t wait to try it out and share what I think about it with everybody as well!
