Stir Fry Celery with Beef

Today’s recipe is Stir Fry Celery with Beef.

I have not cooked beef for a year because the beef odor is so strong that I wanted to try my hands again this time with less odor.

How to remove beef odor

# combine with vegetables

Finally, I found out that a combination of vegetable with beef could reduce and cover up the odor well.

Celery taste a little bitter, raw but crunchy.

It helps to cover up the beef odor with stir fry but don’t pour in too much water.

This recipe is supposed to be dry and cook the beef long enough to lessen the smell.

#marinate with tamarind juice

Another way to reduce the beef odor is to marinate the beef with tamarind juice.

Tamarind has the ability to remove foul stench or odor in seafood ( fish, clams, oysters , squids).

Marinate the cut beef with 1/2 bowl of tamarind juice for 30minutes

Discard the tamarind juice, briefly wash the beef

I use raw tamarind pulp, 2 tbsp, soak with 1/2 bowl of water.

Allow to soak the tamarind pulp 10 minutes to thicken the juice

#cut the beef

Wash the beef well, discard any dust, hairs, fats.

Cut the beef into thin slices, not thick.

It takes a longer time to cook thick beef, the raw meat gives the stench.

Alternatively, cut the beef into long strips, that would be easier to cook and faster too.

In this beef recipe, I cut it into thin and smaller pieces.

#marinate with sauce

After you had soak the beef with tamarind, briefly washed it, cut it, it is time to marinate the beef with the right sauces.

Marinate them with light soy sauce, Chinese wine and pepper

Wine helps to cover up the beef odor well while pepper helps to spice up the flavor.

Light soy sauce gives a little salty taste, don’t have to use salt.

    • oh..very nice to hear the recipe here. I tried it at home. The pity is that there I used more soy oil and the Onions were roasted more. The onions became slightly black. I did not want to waste it and proceeded further. The dish could not be cooked properly. Now I will try.
