Sri Lanka batted very well and was able to post total of only 219 runs in 41 over’s at the loss of 8 wickets and with top scores of K Sanga who made 90 runs in 95 balls with 6 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 95 runs in 100 balls and Angelo M who made 30 runs in 27 balls with 2 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 111 runs in 100 balls.
West Indies was needed to score 230 runs in 41 over’s to win this match.
West Indies batted well but was able to chase the target of 220 runs and was able to make only 190 runs in 41 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and lost the game by 39 runs under D and L method and with top contributions from D Bravo who made 70 runs in 84 balls with 4 4’s and 1 sixes at the strike rate of 83 runs in 100 balls.
Sri lanka won the match by 39 runs.
