Sri Lanka beat South Africa in 5th ODI of series,2013

South Africa was scheduled to play a 5 Match One Day International in Sri Lanka in 2013. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as they are ranked at 3 and 4. The 5th ONE DAY international match was to be played on R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka on 31st July 2013. South Africa holds the upper hand as they are more experienced team and playing very well as well.

Sri lanka batted well and was able to post total of only 307 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 4 wickets and with top scores of T Dilshan who made 99 runs in 110 balls with 13 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 90 runs in 100 balls and K Sanga who made 75 runs in 45 balls with 12 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 167 runs in 100 balls.

South Africa was needed to score 308 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

South Africa batted well but was unable to chase the target of 308 runs and was only able to make 179 runs in 43.5 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and lost the game 128 runs with top contributions from Ab De Villiers who made 51 runs in 51 balls with 5 4’s and 1 sixes at the strike rate of 100 runs in 100 balls.

Sri Lanka won the match by 128 and series ends at 4-1 in favor of Sri Lanka
