Sri Lanka beat South Africa in 4th ODI of series,2014

South Africa was scheduled to play a 5 Match ONE DAY International Series in Sri Lanka in 2014. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as both are ranked at 2 and 4. The 4th ONE DAY international match was to be played on Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele, Sri Lanka on 9th July 2014.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opts to bat first; this is how Sri Lanka team and 11 was looking like in this 4th ONE DAY international match: Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Kulasekara, Ajantha Mendis, Angelo Mathews (c), Lahiru Thirimanne, Ashan Priyanjan, Sachithra Senanayake, Kusal Perera

South Africa batted well but was unable to chase the score of 268 runs and was only able to make 180 runs in 38.1 over’s at the loss of 10 wicket and lost the game by 87 runs and top scores by H Amla who batted very well and aggressively and made 101 runs in 102 balls with 11 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 99 runs in 100 balls, A B Deviliers who batted very well  made 29 runs in 41 balls with 3 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 71 runs in 100 balls faced, D Steyn who batted very well  and aggressively made 23 runs in 35 balls with 4 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 66 runs in 100 balls faced and extras contributed 13 runs with 4 leg byes, 9 wide balls, and no one over stepped for no balls.

Sri Lanka won the match by 87 runs and now this 5 Match ONE DAY international series stands at 3-1 in favor of South Africa with 1 more games to play in this great series. South Africa already won the series already.
