Prawn pepper fry is one of the popular Indian food served in restaurants and road side stall.
The best thing about Malaysian food is a vast variety of spicy
food from different races which served delicious, hot and
tasty seafood, especially Prawns
This Prawn Pepper Fry is uniquely spice but not spicy as
Sambal paste.
In this recipe, it uses freshly ground black peppercorns with
garlic.
If you are out of black peppercorns, you could replace them
with black pepper powder and chilli flakes.
My hubby and I are a fan of this seafood recipe, simply a
wholesome meal that blended an aromatic flavor with green
pepper ( also known as capcium) and beancurd that are full
of fibre and protein.

Prawn Pepper Fry Recipe
Ingredients
500g prawns
2 pieces of beancurd-fried and cubes
1 green pepper ( capcium)-sliced
1 tsp dark soy sauce
Canola oil
Salt to taste
Ground together:
1 tsp black peppercorns
3 cloves garlic
Method :
1. Marinate prawns with ground ingredients and dark soy
sauce.
2. Heat up pan with oil.
3. Add in prawns and fry for 5 minutes.
4. When the prawns had turned pinkish red, add in 2 tbsp of
water to simmer over low heat.
5. Add in green peppers, beancurd and stir fry with the
mixed peppercorns well for another 2 minutes.
6. Dish up. Serve hot with white or brown rice.
How to choose fresh prawns
Choosing fresh prawns is an essential skill in order to cook
this delicious tasty Prawn Pepper Fry dish.
l Always choose prawns with shell intact.
Certain wet market seafood vendors sell prawns without
shells for consumers convenience.
Without the shells, the texture of the prawn flesh shrunk
and soften when soaked in ice cubes, reducing the
flavor.
l Choose prawns with the heads intact, not loose.
If the head is loose, do not choose the inner flesh that
has turned red.
This indicate the prawns had been frozen and defrost a
few days ago. They are not fresh prawns.
l Choose prawns that are displayed on crushed iced
not soaked in a tray of water.
Soaked prawns may turned rotten, flesh became slimy
and not firm.
Better and quality prawns have shiny shells and the
prawns are curled up.
l Do not choose prawns that are frozen.
These prawns had been frozen for a few months.
Hence, they are not fresh anymore.
l Choose the prawns color that should be greyish for
Tiger prawns or bright reddish for shrimps, no black
spots.
