How to spend a million dollars - designed using Pablo by Buffer
This popular topic has always been discussed among my friends. My husband and I also talked about it before, just for fun.
When there is no time limit to spend the money
If I had a million dollars in my bank, and there is no time frame for us to spend the money, what I will do is to INVEST the money. I am not good at investing, but I will let my husband manage all the money, and let him decide what products to invest. I am sure we will be investing in the stock markets, perhaps some properties as well. I have no idea what else my husband will be interested in investing.
I would like to set up my own business as well. It does not need to be a business to earn big money, but something I enjoy doing and might be able to help others as well. I used to think of opening a book store cafe, so people can enjoy reading and eating in the cafe, they can also chit chat with each other. I hope this will be a nice hang out place for friends and families, or even an individual. I might enjoy staying there to make friends with the customers too.
We will donate a certain percentage of the money we earned to the needs as well. There are so many people or organizations who need money to help out themselves, the animals or the earth, I think it is our responsibility to help as a world citizen, especially if we can afford to do so. I was thinking if I should just donate 50% of the million dollars to the needs, but I think it would be better for me to invest all the money first, then donate the money we earned, so we might be able to contribute more money to the needs and also for longer term.
Besides investing and donating, I would also like to go traveling and eat something I like to eat, but I will also spend the money I have earned from the investment for these. I still think it is good to put the million dollars in investment, then just spend the money we earned. I am sure with this million dollars, we will earn a lot, and we can afford to do a lot too.
When there is a time limit to spend the money
If there is a time frame for me to spend the million dollars, say I can only spend all of them in a day or a week, and I can’t put the money for investment, and must spend them all within the time frame, I would prefer to donate most of them to the needs, then treat all my friends or even those I do not know a good meal. It seems like I think spending money on a good meal is more worth it. I do not enjoy shopping or buying things so much, perhaps being able to eat the food I like is more enjoyable to me.

If I had a million dollar. The first thing I would do is get a divorce.
I think I'd want to invest and eat well too, @kaka135! I said I would love to buy my family a dream house, and one thing I would be sure to have in it is a very extensive kitchen and pantry so I can enjoy cooking with my kids and my husband :)
A book store cafe is a good idea.
Over here, some of the big libraries have a cafe in it. The library users can borrow books and read while sipping coffee.
