South Africa Beat Sri Lanka in 1st T 20 of series, 2013

South Africa was scheduled to play a 5 Match T 20 International in Sri Lanka in 2013. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as they are ranked at 3 and 4. South Africa batted well and was able to post total of 115 runs in 20 over’s at the loss of 6 wickets and with top scores of J P Duminy who made 51 runs in 52 balls with 3 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 98 runs in 100 balls and D Miller who made 25 runs in 24 balls with 0 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 105 runs in 100 balls.

Sri Lanka was needed to score 116 runs in 20 over’s to win this match.

Sri Lanka batted well but was unable to chase the target of 116 runs and was only able to make 103 runs in 20 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and lost the game 12 runs with top contributions from K Sanga who made 59 runs in 53 balls with 9 4’s and 0 sixes at the strike rate of 111 runs in 100 balls.

South Africa won the match by 12 runs and series stands at 1-0 in favor of South Africa
