So You Want To Be Cool?

It is not hard to be considered cool.  You just walk into that High School as if you own it.  You see everyone and view them as co-stars in your movie.   Confidence.  That’s what you need.

And you can only be confident when you know you’have done your work, when you know you are not late, when you know you have dressed with some care.

The easiest thing is to match up your clothes so that you don’t look like a diseased rainbow or that you bought the outfit off the store mannequin.

Your clothes should fit you.   Don’t just buy what is offered,  see what you look good in.  What cuts, what colours, what fabrics.

You’ve got the whole summer to do a pre shopping jaunt.  You have all your last year’s clothes to shift through.

Be critical.  Don’t just buy what is  buy what suits you and fits.   Wear clothes you have worn before so people won’t think you’re trying too hard to impress.

Act comfortable in your body. Find life wonderful.   Enjoy breathing, feeling, everything around you.   Give off the vibe that you like everyone.  Pretend you are Usain Bolt.

Don’t let people intimidate you.  That’s the key feature of cool people.  No one can intimidate them.  Whether their sneakers cost $1 or $100 it doesn’t matter.    They know their sneakers are cool and match their outfit.

Cool kids seem to breeze through school.  You can.  Do your work.  Let nothing interfere in that.  You do your homework, your study, and then, you enjoy life.  You make sure you aren’t at the back of the pack.

You may not be first, maybe not fifth, but you fall safely in the middle.

Don’t sacrifice your study to hang out and do nothing frequently. Once and a while is OK other than that, “Boring!”

Don’t try to impress others.   Just be you, do your work, and have confidence.

Think like this; .

Would a cool kid drink that bottle of wine to impress anyone?  Would a cool kid use drugs?   Does a cool kid have to have sex with all comers?  Of course not.  This is what losers do.

You are not a loser.  You have to know it.  For a fact.

Being cool means you run things, things don’t run you.

    • Point taken but why do i have to work so hard to be cool when i can still be myself and be loved by all. being cool is too much work and takes a lot of energy and time. but i believe it's only now that people do this things but back in the days people never had the time to do such things, what do you benefit out of being cool in high school anyway. that's something that we need to remember that when we get cool in school will we need this coolness in the outside world when we are done with school?

    • High School is that twilight zone where one travels from being a child to being an adult. Who and what you admire/despise; aspire/reject; accept/refute; are set at High School.

Where you are at the bottom, a loser, rejected, left out, you miss a lot of the necessary information that will help you in life. Life isn't just grades or rules, you have to know how people view things. YOu may not agree, but at least you are exposed.

    • What society label as cool doesn't seem to be so cool.It seem to be an act of ignorants to walk around with your pants down and smoken blunts.I just pray for my up comen youth. Its cool to study and work hard.I want to start that trend.A new cool way to be cool

    • Ahh, yeah... that repulsive new 'style'. Horrible. Yes, Tariq... one of the things you might research is the 'down low'. These are men who claim to be straight but have sex with other men. The clue was wearing the pants low... so that a guy walking into a club with two girls could give the signal he wanted sex with men to another guy with girls, and they'd link.
