Skinfood Foot Peeling Socks Review

These days, I am trying to use the products I recently bought from Jolse. So expect a lot of new product reviews from me, too! One of the things I recently bought from Jolse is this packet of Skinfood Foot Peeling Socks. This item was from the unboxing session I had where I made a shop comparison between Jolse and Rinishop. And in case you want to have a read, then click here to see what I have to say about the two Korean online stores!

This is the third (I think) item I bought from Skinfood. I was happy with the product so I decided to try this foot peeling socks. Even at the beginning of my Korean skincare addiction, I have seen these products in the online stores but was hesitant to try. But my thickening callused feet badly needs some TLC – I gave in to try this product. I used to go for a foot spa every 6 months to address this. But I would usually do that when I fly back in my home country (they do it better and cheaper over there!). Since I am not flying home anytime soon, I had to resort to this as an alternative.
This product works by soaking your feet inside the foot socks soaked with a solution to initiate the peeling process. To start, I opened the packet and cut the top portion to open the socks. I carefully placed my feet inside and was lucky I had “OK” sized feet so I didn’t have any issues with it. The plastic foot socks looked cute with the tiny green feet plastered around it! This is a photo of my feet inside the foot socks.

I read from other blogs that it is recommended to wear socks to keep the plastic foot socks snug. I did that and since I had to soak my feet in the solution for an hour, I also wanted to be able to move around. So wore a pair of socks over the plastic foot socks and tried to walk around the house. Unluckily for me, the plastic foot socks ripped. So the socks and floor I stepped at got wet with the solution. I didn’t remove it, though. As I want to proceed with the foot soak so my feet will peel. It was still wet with the solution despite leaking through the rip.
Keeping still for an hour with the socks was an agonizing wait (for me). But I got busy while working online through my phone. So that helped me get through the waiting process.
After an hour of soaking, I rinsed off with warm water. After patting my feet dry, this is the time I felt a slightly minty sensation on my feet. It was fresh and I felt the skin around my feet got tight.
Now, the peeling process did not start until the 3rd day after soaking. But when it did, boy, our house was filled with skin!
It is really an effective alternative if you don’t have access to a good foot spa salon. And for the price I had to pay ($5.51 from Jolse), it was really great value for money!

    • Is it not uncomfortable wearing some plastic foot socks by soaking the feet in solution? What is the main use of it?

      • Not really. It is a bit squishy but I wouldn't say it is uncomfortable. :) I wrote about it and it is to peel off dead skin cells around the foot area. It is a great alternative instead of the traditional scrubbing done in the foot spa especially if there's no easy access to it.
