She Was Victimized by a Group of Scrupulous Person

My mother-in-law’s sister, who is already 84 yeas old now, had been victimized by a scrupulous gang who defrauds and swindles retirees, 5 years ago.

This happened when she went to church alone one time. After the mass, as she was walking out of the church a lady in her mid 40’s suddenly tapped her on her left upper arm.

She got angry and reprimanded the lady. The lady apologized and told her she was her student in college since she was indeed a professor in a university here in the Bicol Region, Philippines.

Much as auntie said she doesn’t know her, the lady keeps sweet talking her, until she went with her inside the car and sales talked her into investing money which can earn her money a 40% interest.

She went back to the house and the lady and her friend even went inside the house with her, took her passbook and went to the bank with them to withdraw.

To cut it short, she withdrew her savings worth 400,000.00 pesos or $8,000.00and gave it to them as her “investment”.

She got nothing in return for the money, just the promise that they will come back after a month to give the interest to which it never happened.

And suddenly all she remembered was she was at the church again and went home dazed. She was hypnotized the moment that lady tapped her hard on her upper arm.

She was shocked after that and her children were so angry when they came to know this from her because she called all of them through the phone crying .

The children even watched the CCTV at the mall where she went with them to talk at the food court about the “business”, but they are wise because they always have their backs from the CCTV camera.

Her children took her to Manila to stay there and just came back after a year when she recovered from her shock.

And never was she allowed to go out again without an adult companion.

Actually, a lot of retirees have been victimized here already. The victims are just ashamed of revealing that they were scammed,

That is why also , we never allow mother-in-law nor auntie to go to the city alone . We don’t want them to be victimized too by those what we call here as “budol-budol” gang.

They only get to go to the city when someone can drive the car for them.
