Scandalous Publications cannot keep Marriages safe
Husbands and wives who often publish the negative issues about their marriages are naïve and not rooted in family life. In the Bible, no publisher of evil news was rewarded with good presents. See how King David treated the man who brought negative news about King Saul’s death.King David said,” And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead? And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him. And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I. And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite. He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me. So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord. Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him: And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword. And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite. And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD’s anointed? And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died. And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD’s anointed”.(2nd Samuel 1:5-16)Do you see how the King after God’s own heart treated a gossip, a qualified tale bearer. King David ordered for his execution. That is how a husband and wife should shun every scandal carrier. The tale bearer in the biblical passage above thought that King David will reward him for Killing King Saul, instead he met his death. I like the word of King David which is,” How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD’s anointed? (2nd Samuel 1:14)If the scandal bearers know the weight of a marriage before God, they will not intrude with such horrible news of libel that causes trouble between husband and wife. The institution called marriage involves two people-the husband and the wife. These children of God were anointed on the day of their marriage. From the prayer of parents at the traditional marriage to the solemnization of the same marriage in the church, anointing flows to keep them together. Any man or woman bringing news of disunity is cursed, just like King David ordered the execution of the false Amelekite who was indeed an Israelite. The word of command says, “Those whom God has joined together, let no one put asunder.” Good news is what should be heard among believers. If you praise the union of two people as one, your own marriage will be peaceful and blessed. The Prophet Isaiah wrote,” How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:7)The feet of those who bring good news are beautiful!.Those who bring negative tidings are cursed. Couples need to dismiss every bad news projected and programmed into their marriages. They need to meet their pastors and counselors to give them advices on how to manage issues in marriage.
