SAY A BIG ‘NO’ TO PROCESSED FOODS

As soon as I return from my office, the hands automatically search for something to munch and reach the refrigerator to pick out something that may be available readily. The Juice bottles, the jams of various fruits, some stored fruit packets, some slices of pineapples, chips, Tomato chips, Potatoe Chips, Cans of milk, etc., can be found readily. I became a favorite and addict of these foods until I paid a heavy amount to the Hospital for the sin I made in keeping them stored in the refrigerator. I started suffering from stomach pain followed by indigestion. It was announced further by the doctor that it was food poisoning. Since two days, I made up my mind not to visit any stores and purchase these stock which we generally call ‘PROCESSED FOODS’.

Though there are some advantages, the disadvantages of having them stocked in our fridge are many and sometimes even they are a damaging effect on our health.

Earlier I was thinking that they are easy to purchase, they are free from bacteria and can be stored for a long time and further the tasty items like fruit jams and juices can be kept safely avoid expenditure on my vehicle. Dumping all of them in the fridge at once would save my time and expenditure on petrol.

But, the experience had given a different picture of this at-once-purchase and dumping them in the fridge.

I could realize that the genetically modified most of the time as they are will affect our health adversely. The items not only lose their nutrients and thereby nutritious value but also show their tremendous impact on our health. Foods having more added sugar and fat cause more health hazards like Diabetes, Blood pressure, and other heart and cardiovascular problems.

This summer I have decided to purchase some curd, add some water to it. I prepare a pot of Buttermilk and make it even tastier adding some Coriander leaves, ginger, Lemon juice, and some salt.

Keeping this item in a pot lasts longer. This can be served as a healthy drink to our guests. It gives a lot of relief from the heat of the sun. It protects from sunstrokes, diarrhea, and other radiation-related problems. This gives a good protection from being dehydrated easily.

SO FOR THIS SUMMER A BIG ‘NO’ TO PROCESSED FOODS.

    • you can not say no for completely life with no processed food, since its in everthing you will find these things, in baking, in restaurants, in sweets in chips in tea or coffee in juice, there is nothing without processed food but too many little things and these things are high price, so we can not live without processed food, life is pricey now actually very pricey , so processed food rescue people, reduce it is good idea, but no for sure will not help any to live properly, also makeup has processed things and it goes to skin can people stop it, no. hopefully economy change and maybe then we can eat fresh food

    • It is a good decision which you have taken. But I feel totally stopping processed food would not instantly possible. But if we decided to go for it and are able to do so it is a good thing. But the important thing is we should not stop this in between and this should be a decision which we should continue for the whole of our life. It is wrong on the part of companies too to not inform the public of what they are doing and what are the harmful effects of the processed food. There should be some sort of labeling done for the public to know which food produced and packaged causes what harm and side effects.

Thirty years ago there was not much of packaged food industry. Majority of them were being manufactured by small scale industries which were family based. The quality was also good and so was the digestion. If one consumes additives and other things over a period of years it causes health issues which will be different among different individuals which one will not know till a long time. By this time the damage to the health would have been done and things would be irreversible. It is always better to be safe than be sorry. It is better to limit consumption of packaged food if not totally stop it. A important issue and a good article.
