We all have a notion that healthy foods are expensive. Therefore, it may be difficult to consume well when you’re on a limited budget. However, there are lots of ways to save lots of money and still eat whole, single-ingredient foods. Listed below are some tricky tips that may allow you to eat healthy on a budget.
Go with seasonal:
Go with seasonal fruits and veggies, when you can, buy food from farmers locally at your neighborhood farmers market or from farm stands. This isn’t only more affordable, but those foods contain more vitamins and minerals as they have not traveled much for many days and their freshness sustain. Plus, they will taste better as they get fresh! To get farm stands towards you, check out. So if dealing with a farmer’s market or farm stand isn’t feasible on a regular basis, find a local or regionally market where you always do most of one’s grocery shopping.
Prepare food at home:
Cook at home the most crucial change I made to truly save money was to turn cooking at home. It is not only money saving but also healthy. In addition practicing cooking at home makes us self-depended and turns us a good cooking expert.
Marketing in the weekend:
Do marketing at the weekend. It would make you motivated to cook at home while watching the raw fresh veggies in the fridge. So, first make your plan and then go for marketing. Buy additional spices and ingredients needed for your recipes and stick to your plan.
Always check offers:
Always keep being alerted about the offers while going in a mall for marketing. Almost every time there are some offers on some of the products, buy one and get one free, buy two and get one free and so on. This would shorten your time and energy as well as your money.
Use substitutes of chips, fries and other spicy snacks:
Most of the leisure times we grab a packet of chips or fries or other spicy snacks and keep watching TV or keep going through an interesting story. In this way, our pocket gets empty and tummy gets larger. Use some substitutes instead of fries and chips and spicy crunchy snacks. I recommend you grab some fruits and make healthy snacks. As an example, cut a banana in several pieces, grill in a micro oven and sprinkle spices over it. Your healthy snack is ready. You can have some sprouts with tomato, chili and onion with salt and black pepper to make it spicy and tasty.
Replace non-veg protein with veg protein:
Reduce the intake of more meat. This has become the easiest method to save lots of money. Whether at the supermarket or at restaurants meat is definitely the most expensive thing on the menu. I do not advocate a vegetarian diet, but limiting meat to once or twice per week is a good way to reduce both calories and expenses. If you’re focused on protein you are able to eat beans, eggs, and lentils instead. Remember, non-veg diet is more expensive than veg diet.
Make fruit dessert or salad instead of desserts:
We all have sweet teeth. And our teeth need desserts to make it sweeter. Dessert is must be needed after finishing lunch and dinner. To accomplish our cravings for sugar we spend a bulk of money buying desserts, cakes, and pastries. Instead of this go with a healthy and less expensive way to fulfill your sweet cravings. Buy various fruits while marketing and make a fruit salad. You could make toothsome fruit desserts.

The best thing I can think of is to have some crops in the backyard. I am sure it will not cost any penny to buy in the market. At least, you can have crops to harvest and it is also fresh as ingredients. Of course, this is not applicable living in big cities. Countryside has always the chance to make it big savings by having crops in their backyards.
Fruits and some vegetable here are expensive.
Though, you are right. Just buy those fruits in season, because they are cheaper. And but on those market buys where farmers would go to sell their freshly picked veggies.
It's hard to eat healthy too, when there are kids, since kids usually hate veggies. Though, if we know how to make our veggies palatable, we can make them eat much.
One way is to make the eggplant omelet. Kids loves this specially if the dip it in catsup.
And yes, having some fruit salads or even just those in season fruits for dessert would really be a healthy option for other sugary or sweet desserts.
