I was born and raised in a christian family with christian values and these values have guided me in many decisions I have made in life, I admit though, not all of my decisions are influenced by my christian background, rather, it all depends on the situation at the particular moment that I need to make the decision.
Often when I go to church, different churches, right after preaching to the congregation, the pastors ask if there is anyone who has decided to give their life to Jesus Christ, those who have never said the Sinners’ Prayer at all, and they rise up and asked to come up to the pulpit. The pastors go on to ask those who have done so before but feel they had back slid or had gone back to their old sinful ways, to come too to the pulpit so they can accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior AGAIN.
What makes makes you a christian is believing in Jesus Christ and believing that he died on the cross for your sins. That process of accepting Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior is the one that brings your salvation. According to the bible, believing in Jesus Christ and accepting him as your personal Lord and savior is what earns you the right to be called a child of God, and he is a forgiving God, meaning after the sinners’ prayer all your past sins are forgiven. In the bible it is written “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so that who ever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”. Jesus also said in the bible, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”, meaning, for God to listen to anything you say to him, you will have to come to him through Jesus Christ, which is something you cannot do if you do not believe in him(Jesus Christ). In light of this I believe it is right to say, you cannot ask for forgiveness from God if you do not believe in Jesus Christ, remember I’m talking from a Christian perspective.
when you become a christian you need to understand one thing, God is a forgiving God and he loves you more than you can even imagine, one fact that proves his love for you is the fact that he sacrificed his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, for your sins. You also need to understand that no sin is bigger than his capability to forgive you. At one time Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven”. What Jesus said here means you have to be able to forgive one person, 490 times in one day, surely no one will ever sin so many times against one person in one day, so basically he was saying you must always forgive, yes, all the time. In respect of all this, surely there is nothing good that a human being can do better than God, no man or woman is able to forgive as much as God. If Jesus Christ himself says you must forgive one person 70 times 7 times, just how many times is God able to forgive you, think about it.
My real issue is on the Pastors who ask those who feel they have backslid to re-repent and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior again and again, that is not right, all that person needs to do is, sincerely and wholeheartedly ask for forgiveness from God in the name of Jesus Christ (through Jesus Christ, his only begotten son who died for those sins), he will forgive. You can only redo the whole process of salvation if you have confessed with your mouth denouncing Jesus Christ, if you did not do that, then all you need is to ask for forgiveness, but you have to mean it, wholeheartedly and sincerely. The fact that you have already accepted him once, means that you have earned the right to be a child of God, and if you sin, all you now need to do is to Go before him through Jesus Christ and ask for forgiveness. Its actually an insult to believe that God will not forgive you. Read your bible and understand it, and its advisable to pray before you read it.
I hope this will help somebody.

God loves us all equally the same .
Example
You can be an alcoholic or a person that fornicates .
No matter how small or big your sin may be , you can always repent and ask God for Forgiveness.
I am a Preacher's Daughter as people say Pk kid !
I'm not perfect I have done and said things I know is wrong .
If your a strong Believer in God and you attend Church and give God the highest level of Praise.
And Saturday night you was out turning up and you repent and keep doing the same thing .
Sorry to say but God is not going to be listening to you .
Why.
Well you pray you break down and beg for God to make a change in your life .
God has spoken to you to help you get out of that situation , but you rather keep dancing with the Devil.
With all your heart ,mind body and soul .When You truly give God all of you to God and repent for your sins.
You will see the Good deed God has been trying to show or give you . But only if you completely surrender yourself in the hands of God.
There is much more to say about repentance just pick up the Holy Bible and read it digest it into your life.
It's never too late to ask God for repentance and forgiveness.
Indeed repentance means to turn back to God, to turn away from sin. Yes, God is a forgiving God. Just look at the Israelite. God kept on forgiving them and they kept on sinning against him. Now, God is not stupid nor is he a walk over. After giving them numerous chances and they continue to sin against him, he eventually punishes them. Yet, even though he punishes them, his love for them leads him to forgive them to the point of weeping. This is how God is with us. His love for us is boundless and his arms are ever open to us for forgiveness and comfort.
