Romantic Poets During the 1800- 1850 Centuries

Romanticism period emphasized emotion over reason, unlike in the previous eras where they emphasized reason over emotion and individualism and they glorified the past for without the past there will be no tomorrow and so they had enjoyed and shared to all people on earth their literature works that are based on emotion or love to let them feel the beauty of love and nature. During Romanticism period flourished were famous American writers. All their writings are based on emotion. In this century they still recognized the origin of literature from the medieval period

During this period, there are movements are all based music, literature; visual arts all are intended for humanity. All their writings are based on human feelings, struggles, difficulties, yet some triumphs and some didn’t. I would like to introduce to you only two famous American writers during the Romanticism period such are Edgar Allan Poe (1809- 19849) and Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804- 1864). These writers based their writings from super natural occult and psychology. There are so many writers during the Romanticism period like William Blake, Coleridge, Ralph Waldo Emerson and more. I so liked the short stories written by Edgar Allan Poe like “The Cask of Amontillado,” This story seems complicated. Many college students find it hard to understand this story of Poe.

About the poem of Edgar Allan Poe, I like his poem entitled: Annabel Lee. This poem is so sentimental and it tells about his wife. He thought his wife was killed by someone powerful thinking they thy envied their love. I would like to share you the excerpt of Poe’s poem that I like most entitled Annabel lee in discussion forum not here to be safe and sure.

What a very emotional lines of Poe’s poem. These lines relate about serious feeling of love. Poe’s wife died and he cannot accept her death. He condemned many and one reason from him why envied them and killed his wife is their true love and their happiness.  He thought someone killed his wife and that it happened because Poe writes great literature works when he is  drunk.

My heart aches when I read this portion of Poe’s poem so strong and seems from the deepest chamber of his heart. Seldom we can hear  a man saying this to his lady, LOL.  Then, the poem flowed to the most intriguing part where the writer seems dying in vain for a love that may never come back to life again. This was the most critical part of the writers life a wife leaving him forever without coming back so sickening reality.

Then the last part of Poe’s poem seems showing a very strong emotion directed for love which stated that his love for his wife is immeasurable.

The poem of Poe relates about his unending love to his wife that until he died, it’s the picture of his wife he always see. I do not know if I could still fine someone like this way how he loves and he is the best and famous American poet that emerged during the Romanticism period. What a sickening reality love lived shortly.

Another Romantic writer is Nathaniel Hawthorne. His poems depict mostly on deaths and super natural. It seems that this handsome writer had suffered devastations during his young life.

Most of the lines of Hawthorne’s   poem  entitled “ The Ocean” are so gloomy and weird. I am so sure that this write had in the past devastated experiences. I will share you in forum discussion excerpt of his poem The Ocean. The writings of Hawthorne depict some realities of life. His styles in writing are  very natural and real. At least he let the people in the world that no one stays on earth forever for most of his writing relate about human lives and how humans fall at the end of their journey.
