The Revolution Of Technical Course

TESDA or Technological Education and Skills Development Authority

is raising the bar to help the community to have a better livelihood or landing a good compensation from the job.

During the conference of TESDA of Region 1 where the Secretary Guiling Mamondiong was the guest speaker, the importance of technical or vocational course was once again reiterated to give non-formal education to the out-of-school youth, wives, people who graduated degree course but have no job, or those who just wanted to have a National Certificate because they wanted to work abroad.

In his speech, Mr. Mamondiong said the good news. In Region 1 alone, he said there will be 30,000 slots from TESDA: 12,000 beneficiaries for Pangasinan and 6,000 each for the province of Ilocoss Sur, Ilocos Norte and La Union. That means 30,000 people to undergo the technical course from TESDA, there are more than 200 course offered by the department.

And this time, he said they will go deeper, going barangay based. The training will be done in barangay/village and the beneficiaries will be from the rural village residents. Aside from that, he said the agency now will go family oriented program—which means the training will be implemented to a particular family for a particular course.

The agency will also be level-up by participating in the World Skills Competition. The importance of this is to explore and expose the talents and skills of the TESDA scholars to the international scene. The competition will be held in Dubai in 2017 and Malaysia in 2018. The competition will pave way for the talent of the Filipinos in this international competition.

The agency will be heading in the right path. This include the subsidy of assessment fee of the TESDA scholars and so giving with proper tools for them.

If this will be realized, there will be no more poverty in the country because all the people will be graduate of special skills from TESDA and will give them good livelihood or job.

    • No. It will be wrong assumption to think that there will be no poverty. Will the poverty disappear by encouraging vocational courses in the Rural villages and in the Rural Areas? As long as the unscrupulous politicians and the system is there the disappearance of poverty will be only a day dream.

In India also such promises were made to the people and some
programs were introduced. The people were trained. Some of them could get jobs. As the programme continued the number of unemployeds in the vocational certificates increased. Another scheme was launched providing financial assistance to those remained unemployed to set up their own industries. To some extent some people got a livelihood.

Suddenly the wicked nature appeared by taking up the Agricultural lands which were neglected by the people for construction activities. The agricultural landlords became helpless. He is compelled to forgo his fertile lands. Already some politicians purchased these lands from the farmers and after the introduction of the scheme, they got huge compensation from the Government.

Ultimately the farmers lost their fertile agricultural lands. The shortage of food production is likely to be felt very shortly forcing the Government to go for important which is totally a brainless planning.
