Reckless Dribing on Dallas Streets

A recent news report of a residential neighborhood falling victim to late night reckless drivers is cause for more concern.

It is no wonder people don’t like to park alongside the curb because it is always better for your car to keep it away from traffic as far as possible, hopefully inside the garage or at least up in the driveway.

But for those who park their SUV, car or Truck on the curb at night in some cases, can result in disaster. One such family, who had security cameras installed on their house were  hit by a reckless driver just weeks earlier before they managed to take a video from their surveillance camera of the more recent drive by collision by a hit and run motorist. They managed to get this story on the nightly news and they were able to share enough video footage to help police identify the person driving the offending vehicle while driving too fast and hitting the owner’s parked SUV in their driveway resulting in thousands of dollars in damage.

The roads that have higher than normal incidents of reckless behavior by night time motorists are the ones police need to find better ways to keep up with by either having residents keep their cameras running at night and to try and not park their motor vehicles alongside the curbs. Speed bumps sometimes help to slow down traffic and are often placed after a neighborhood petition is signed and homeowners go through proper channels.

It is my hope that in the near future stiffer penalties will be enforced to narrow down the numbers of these types of accidents caused by people who just don’t pay attention to the rules and drive like maniacs on the streets of Dallas.
