Reading the Bible will Let You Have A Better Life

How can the Bible improve your life?

The Bible is no ordinary book. It contains advice from our Creator. (2 Timothy 3: 16) Its message can influence us profoundly. In fact, the Bible states: “The word of God is alive and exerts power.” (Hebrews 4:12) It has the power to improve life in two key ways- offering guidance in our daily life now and helping us to know God and His promises.

IMPROVING YOUR LIFE NOW

The Bible can help with very personal matters. It gives practical advice about the following:

  1. Relationships with others. –Ephesians 4:31, 32 ; 5:22, 25, 28, and 33.
  2. Emotional and physical health. –Psalms 37: 8 and Proverbs 17: 22.
  3. Moral values. -1 Corinthians 6:9 and 10.
  4. Economic welfare. –Proverbs 10:4 ; 28:19 and Ephesians 4:28.

There is a young couple who greatly appreciated the value of the Bible’s advice. Like many newly married couples, they struggled with adjusting to each other’s personality and with having open communication. But they began applying what they read in the Bible. With what result? The husband, Vincent says, “What I read in the Bible helped me to deal with the challenges in our marriage in a loving way. Living by the Bible has given  us a happy life together.” His wife, Annalou agrees, “Reading examples in the Bible helped us. I now feel happy and content with our marriage and our goals in life.”

GETTING TO KNOW GOD

Aside from his comments about marriage, Vincent also said, “By reading the Bible, I feel much closer to God now than ever before.” Vincent’s observation focuses on an important point- the Bible can help you get acquainted with God. In doing so, you will not only benefit from his advice but also find that you can get to know Him as a friend. And you will see that He reveals details about a better future, a time when you can enjoy “the real life”, which will last forever. (1Timothy 6:19) That is something that no other Book can offer.

If you set out to read the Bible and keep at it, you too can gain those benefits-improving your life now and getting to know God. However, as you read the Bible, you will likely think of numerous questions. And when you do, keep in mind the good example of an Ethiopian official who lived 2,000 years ago. He was full of questions about the Bible. When asked if he understood what he was reading, he replied, “Really, how could I ever do so unless someone guided me?” He then eagerly accepted help from someone who was already a qualified Bible teacher, Philip, an early disciple of Jesus Christ. (Acts 8:30, 31, and 34)

Why not pick your Bible today and let it guide you a better life.

    • When I study the Bible it surprises me how much is in the book that is going on right now in our time, wonderful stories to be read if I come across something I can't understand I try my best even as much searching on the computer what something meant, it's nice to go to myself and study and read and try to understand gods word. Something every beleave should try to do as often as they can.

    • The Bible is the best book being created. It gives wisdom to people who read this religiously. It will definitely nourish our spiritual part. The sad part, some people don't practice of what had been written in the Bible. I am just saying that there are some individuals who can be considered a false prophet.

Learning the context of the Bible is good for us, but we need to do the actions. If it is not always knowing the words of God, it should be practiced through actions. I had seen some people who always speak the words of God from the Bible. But they never do it.

    • I have already read the whole bible 2 times. Now, I would read verses to keep me refreshed about the words of God.

The Holy Bible keeps me guided in my thoughts, words and deeds.

I read phrases from the bible when I am feeling disappointed, sad or with a problem. It never fails to enlighten my troubled mind.

The Holy Bible taught me how to be forgiving too.

And you are correct, it helps us have a better life, because despite having some problems, they seem lighter to solve. :)

    • The Bible is the world's best selling book. People find solace and comfort reading it. To many it serves as a guide to their daily living. Giving meaning and purpose to their life. I was raise in the Catholic faith, have read the Bible and use to attend church services and activities. Unfortunately as I grow older doubts and disenchantment with the church made me leave that institution. I still believe that a higher power exist but not in the way the Bible describes.
