Rain Interrupted the 4th ODI between Australia and Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka was scheduled to play a 5 Match ONE DAY International Series in Australia in 2013. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as both are ranked at 3 and 5. The 4th ONE DAY international match was to be played on Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, Australia on 20th Jan 2013. Australia holds the upper hand as they are more experienced team and playing at home.

And Sri Lanka team and 11 was looking like this in this 4th ONE DAY international Match: Mahela Jayawardene (c), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lasith Malinga, Upul Tharanga, Nuwan Kulasekara, Ajantha Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Dinesh Chandimal (wk), Jeevan Mendis.

Australia did not batted well, rather batted poorly and was able to post total of only 222 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and with top scores of David W who made 60 runs in 73 balls with 6 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 82 runs in 100 balls and M Starc who made 52 runs in 37 balls with 7 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 141 runs in 100 balls.

Sri Lanka was needed to score 223 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

But rain interrupted the play and no play was possible which has resulted in no result of this crucial 4^th one Day international match and now series reduced to only 4 match ODI series. Australia needs to win the last match that is the 5^th match to draw this series. Series stands at 2-1 in favor of Sri Lanka.
