Whether or not you are a novice or a veteran cook at home, you can never go wrong with any type of stews for a wholesome meal for yourself or family.
In the past, stews were created when the weather started to turn cold, where food was hardly available during bad times.
Hence, women in the past used to make stews over fire that simmers for hours just to feed hungry family members.
Nowadays, stews had become an easy task for single or married people because it is super easy and I used to call it “Dump everything into the pot”.
One of my favorites is Chicken and Tomato Stews which you should try for a change of your boring recipe routine.
It looks like a stew because you simply dump in all the cut vegetables into a pot and allow it to simmer .
Than pour the thickened tomato gravy over the fried chicken. Yes it is super easy and super fast.
Chicken is a versatile ingredient that is commonly used in Asian and Western meals.
If you love chicken bones, you could choose chicken thighs, cut them into convenient pieces ( chunks) before marinating them.
If you love no bones chicken, go for chicken keel or chicken fillets which is popular among kids who are lazy to pull out chicken bones in between the meats. Younger kids may encounter difficulties in distinguishing between bones or chicken meats which may induce choking.
You could choose either fresh chopped tomato drench with tomato ketchup or canned tomato puree for convenience.Otherwise, you could also try tomato paste specially made for pasta or spaghetti. I love Prego brand which gives the authentic taste of Western style.
Use green pepper or celery, those vegetables with firmer texture. Do not use leafy vegetables because it would turn mushy in stews.
