Much of the food nutrients are absorbed in the mouth provided the food is properly masticated. But every one seems to be in a mighty hurry to swallow it down without even chewing it properly. The stomach is loaded with half chewed food putting a strain on it which can be easily avoided. Most ailments resulting from indigestion stem from this neglect. There is yet another advantage in that when food is properly chewed it can be relished better.
Those who know a bit of homoeopathy will know its rules. The globules are required to be kept on the tongue until they are completely dissolved using the same principle and that is the mouth where absorption takes place.
A time will come when people realise this perhaps they will only go for foods that could be chewed easily requiring little time. May be they will opt for minced meat rather than pieces. They will perhaps eat nuts, again well soaked.
This thought of choosing food that is easy to chew could also be good for the teeth.
How about eating food that is prepared for babies. They eat the same food but theirs is put in a blender.
The question however is what if one does not get to bite food. Does biting food taste better?
Wish this thought of eating blended food was introduced for adults as well. This could have reduced the load on the stomach which is what the stomach goes through today.
My doctor once told me that we should chew the food 32 times. If that were to be followed I wonder how long it would take for anyone togo through a meal.
Those who are into ready made foods could perhaps think on the lines of blended food for adults ensuring that the food tastes good.
A revolutionary change is therefore necessary that can protect our digestive system

32 times? My teacher insisted that we chew our food 28 times before swallowing. She said it helped with digestion and also, we would tend to not overeat because the act of chewing would send early signals to our body that we were full. Sounds logical. :)
That's interesting. 28 may be because kids would have yet to get their wisdom teeth. But I do not think anyone does it more three or four times
This is interesting sometimes i wonder what happen to the mighty foods i swallow, but now i think i have an idea of what i should do before swallowing the, You can't blame me though cause we deal more on foods that require straight swallowing.
