Slipping in bathroom is quite common. It is quite ok though not always for a kid. But for aged adults it can cause severe fractures and ailments. One year back my sister-in-law slipped in the bathroom. She was in her mid-30s, yet the fall was so severe that she had a fracture in her shoulder bone. I can’t say if we are fully cautious we can avoid such happenings completely. Yet it’s sure, we can avoid them to some extent. Let me give you a few tips to avoid slips at bathrooms.
Moisture is one of the major reasons why slipping is quite common in bathrooms. Though it’s not possible to dry moisture completely from bathroom is not possible, but regular cleaning can avoid the slippery of its floor tiles. As we use soaps and detergents regularly in bathrooms, there are more chances that it they are not washed off properly, they can invite a lot of troubles. Wash off soaps, detergents and fungus from floor surfaces.
Though well-polished tiles give elegant looks to floor, it invites troubles as well. Rough anti-skid tiles are best for bathroom floors. It may take extra time for cleaning, but it gives more comfort to users, particularly elders. Bath towel bar should be fixed well with enough strength. At times it often helps you from slipping by holding it. Hand rails give extra support to elders. While designing bathrooms for old members in the family, this step can be taken.
Use sandals of correct size and with good grip in bathrooms, and avoid heel sandals also. Never use bigger sandals. It is always better to keep separate footwear for bathrooms. And most important, if throw rugs in front of bathroom are placed in ditches, slipping in front of bathroom can also be avoided. If you are able to take care of these things, bathroom slips can be prevented to some extent.

Good post. I this consider a very, very important thing; having a shower is something so common we sometimes don't even are conscious it can be really dangerous.
@ Angeles, happy that you liked my post. I shall post similar blogs in future.
Good to know, @sandhyarani! This type of posts I'd really necessary. We all have heard about someone having an accident at the bathroom.
I follow all those tips that you have mentioned here. I also use a bathmat which has a firm grip. I also use a sponge bag to place my soap in there so that it does not slip from my hand having the need to pick it up which sometimes is the cause for slipping.
