Places That I Want To Explore Again

Dora is not only the explorer in this world; Marco Polo was not the only traveler.

We are all traveler and explorer. We love to go to other places not just to have the most beautiful selfie, taste their food, to know their culture and tradition, experience their living but because it’s in our blood—long time ago when the world was still young and humanity is few, people are already exploring the lands.

That includes you and that includes me. I have also been in many places. And there places that I really wanted to come back.

Oh, let’s delete from the list Vigan City because I am living here in my province of Ilocos Sur. It’s my town’s neighbor and so I will be biased to say it’s the most beautiful tourist’s destination.

1. Boracay. Considered to be one of the most beautiful beach in the whole world (yeah not only Philippines), Boracay have always been in my bucket list since I went there in 2013. The fine white sands, the cozy hotels and restaurants, the night life, the cuisine of different nations and cultures, the boat sailing, the swimming. Hey, its Boracay, everything is amazing. It will never be unlisted. Though the distance from Ilocos to Caticlan might take days (either by air or by sea), it is still the best to consider because I want to experience what I had experienced there.

2. Pagudpud Beach. The nearest in my place. It will just take 5 hours, more or less, reaching Pagudpud beach of the province of Ilocos Norte. The popularity now is gaining much because of the good beach, the natural habitat of the nature from mountains to sea, the Patapat bridge which is iconic, the windmill along the way. The best part when we went there, I was with my family. It was so exciting to be there. Well, I did not swim in the beach the first I went there. The next time I come back, I will really swim in the beach.

3. Baguio City. The summer capital of the Philippines. The cold weather during summer and rainy season. How I love the white fog that touches my skin. The sunflower’s blooming in the streets and in the garden. The ornamentals and the plants. The ukay-ukay and the exotic I can taste in this city located at the top of the mountains. I have been here many times and I will come back many times.

4. Hundred Islands of Alaminos. The province of Pangasinan is really so blessed with this destination. Small hundred islands. I was in college when I went there with my teachers and classmates in a field trip we had. It’s been a long time. That long time I have not seen these small islands in the sea. There might be lots of changes now. This change is what I want to see them again.

5. Penablanca Caves of Cagayan. The year I went there is 2003 (if I’m not mistaken). The boating in the river and then hiking the long stairs going up to the caves. Then enjoying the caves hoping. That was so exciting and fun.

There are the most unforgettable places I’ve been that I want to visit again Of course, not included in the list is the places that I have never been yet but someday I will also explore.###

    • So these are the places not to miss by a traveler. what are the historical places in and around the Philippines? I am very much interested to see the Historic places in any place, of course, the Beaches will always be my first preferences. I generally, take a dig to the Forts and other Ancient structure and capture their secrets in my phone (nowadays only) or in my Digital camera (my life).

The places interest me very much to a high degree. Once I was coming from Anantapur (a district about 400 km from the city). On the way I came across Gooty. This is a tourist place and there is an old Fort known by the name The FORT GOOTY. So I reauested the Bus conductor to permit me to get down to see the place. He could only gaze at me perhaps saying for himself what was wrong with this man. I got down spent the whole night in the lodge after visiting the Fort and the next day I got into my Bus to the City. Try to give some information on my favorite topic and also on the Beaches.

      • @shivamani Speaking with historical places of the Philippines I would recommend to you Vigan City, my friend. Why? Vigan is the Heritage City of the Philippines and in fact declared as UNESCO World Heritage site and New 7 Wonder Cities of the world. Vigan still have the ancient houses built during the Spanish colonization in the year 1600 and stayed in the country for 300 years. Museums where the artifacts, antiques and vintage can be found there.

Another place I will recommend is Intramuros. But for real experience of the past, Vigan is the best.

    • I would love to explore the Philippines. Mainly because I want hit up every restaurant on the map. Heard that authentic Filipino food is amazing! When I watch those TV shows where the person gets to travel and their job is to eat the local food, I'm thinking: “Wish I had their job!” :) Of course I'd love to visit the country's historical sites, beaches, and other fun and interesting places as well. One thing I always do no matter where I travel is try to find a place to worship, so I can meet new brothers and sisters in the faith. :)

      • @cmoneyspinner hello, all what you've said are all in pack in my country: historical sites in Vigan, beaches in Boracay and Pagudpud or El Nido, local foods like sinanglaw, empanada, longanisa and many other foods that you'd want to taste for the first time. And of course, house of worship: we may dominated by Catholic but many churches here for Protestants, Lutherans, Mormons, Adventists, Islam, Iglesia ni Kristo.

What is your religion miss Treathyl?

        • Christian. Like the folks who were converted that you can read about in Books of Acts. (Acts 11:26) That's the quickest answer that can be typed into a Comments box. A discussion about my faith would take much much much much much much longer. But thanks for asking. :)+++

    • Yes, There are many places that some of us want to visit again and again in life because they are so beautiful that fascinate human hearts. Here I am, back in Mexico, having decided to visit Playa del Carmen again, a town I’ve been to many times before.

And I’m thoroughly enjoying my stay right now, even more than previous visits. Now one might think this would be the result of spending time at all of my favorite places in town, eating at my favorite eateries, hanging out on my favorite stretch of white sand beach, going for a swim each evening at the very same spot I used to go for a sunset swim and taking day trips to the very same locations I’ve been to, and loved, before.

Yes, I’ve eaten at Dona Mary’s local tostada cafe on Avenida 30, my absolute favorite eatery here, and I’ve already gone to the same nearby street stall for some agua de guanabana, which I used to do almost every day when I lived here, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t hang out at my favorite cafe in the center of town or swim at my favorite part of the beach, just as I did before.

But what I’ve realized this time around is, in between those meals and those hang out sessions and those swims, I’ve ventured off into new neighborhoods, eaten at new eateries, explored new stretches of beach and searched for completely new experiences.
