The Pendulum Now Swings Back

Any student of history or politics knows that change, lasting change, only comes in increments.  Major alterations in the status quo last until the opposition is victorious.  Then, the reversion is to either pre-alteration or a slight step towards the alteration.

The British steps to democracy were painfully show, starting from the Magna Carta, which gave some rights to Nobles in 1215.   These rights moved slowly.   There were setbacks, but eventually, the kind of voting that takes place in the United Kingdom was set, the power of the Monarch limited.

In America the election of Barack Obama was unacceptable to a large segment of the population.   Not to polish it, Racism exists.  It exists in the ‘liberal’ North East just as it does in the Confederate South.

As there has been a clamp on free speech and attempts to be politically correct at all times,  people felt certain things they did not express.  They kept their faces blank, but inside they were a cauldron.

The election of Trump shocked many people.  Here was a man, endorsed by the Ku Klux Klan, a racist, a sexist, a guy so coarse decent people wouldn’t let him in the front room, yet he won.  Not only did he win, but the Republicans won the House and the Senate, turning America into a One Party State.

To be blunt if President Trump decides to introduce legislation to reinstate slavery, it will pass Congress.

Everything that Barack Obama accomplished in his eight years is going to be ‘lynched’.   Not because it is bad policy but because they can’t lynch Barach Obama.

Those who don’t appreciate the change which is going to blow over America will feel it.  They will understand, perhaps, that when the police kill an unarmed black man most people shrug and say, “well, maybe he was unarmed, this time.”

This is not a minority.  A large segment of America views non-whites in a specific way which has not changed since 1860.

With Trump in the White House one can expect ‘open season’.

Who will stop him?  Not the Senate, not the House, and not his soon to be stacked Supreme Court.

The image used to set off this article comes from the 1964 trial in Mississippi.   That was when three Civil Rights Workers were murdered.  One can see how afraid the defendants are of being convicted.

This is how afraid those who murder non-whites will be if caught and tried.
