Peanuts: For all your needs

I laughed aloud when I read a news item – “Why should we nuts for nuts”. I decided to give it a go and found out why you should eat it on regular basis-

What do you buy while you go out or plan on going on a family picnic, especially that involves spending time in outdoor and remote areas, snacks can really matter or you go by what comes your way? Don’t you think that being with family and kids can require you to have extra supplies of snack packs. In my views bigger the family more the need of taking some snacks ready with you. .

Bulk peanuts can be mixed with other forms of nuts and granola to make the perfect healthy snack. Peanuts and other forms of nuts are healthier as compared to deep fried snacks which are unhealthy. Peanuts contain all kinds of nutrients and are energy rich. A small serving of peanuts can quickly rejuvenate body energy, along with tasting really good.

Indoor or outdoor

Bulk peanuts are easy to come by and are usually kept at home. Whether you have a business to run or have a family occasion to celebrate, bulk peanuts make the real difference. Rather than purchasing small quantities of various forms of peanuts, it is more affordable to purchase peanuts in large quantities. Tt may sound strange but irrespective of the kind of peanuts, you purchase, affordability tends to be the main factor.

Storing fresh roasted peanuts is not as difficult as it apparently seems. Whether your peanuts are shelled, unshelled or coated with candy and seasoning storing them makes all the difference. And if by any chance the peanuts might lose any of their freshness, all you need to do is pop them in preheated oven or microwave for a couple of minutes and they will be fresh as new.

Health benefits of peanuts

As we say in our local language that Peanut is a wealth of health as well as it provides a great source of rich protein. The amount of protein the peanut provides is 1.3 times more than meat, 2.5 times more than milk and 8 times more compared to most fruits. It would be appropriate to mention that 1 liter of milk is equivalent of protein available in 100 grams of peanuts.  Also peanuts are great source of protein content having as much as overall 25 percent.-

Most families tend to have rather healthy appetites, multiply that with extra physical activity and the importance of a healthy snack has increased many folds. Remember not to do this with candied nuts as it might melt off all the candy. The trick is to keep the peanuts in a dry and cool atmosphere. This will ensure longer and fresher preservation.

You would be surprised to note that groundnut is also very effective in increasing the digestive strength. The amount of minerals and vitamins found in roasted peanuts is greater than the amount of minerals and vitamins found in meat. The milk produced from peanuts contains protein similar to which is close to as found in lubricating oil therefore eating peanuts, a person is as much benefited as he drinks milk, eats almonds or butter. Peanuts also help reduce Triglycerides from blood lipid levels by 10. I am sure you will add peanuts your regular eating item indoor or outdoor.

    • This is a really informational post. Nuts are healthy snacks and easy to carry around especially when travelling.

    • Peanuts have always been a part of our diet. We ate them as snacks specially while sitting on the sea shore, just boiled them, added them in our dishes and now I have the peanut butter on the breakfast table.

    • Peanuts are indeed a good source of energy and protein. Even though I get a reaction after taking them I still don't stop because I need protein in my body as well. I don't understand why do many people have an intolerance when it comes to peanuts yet they ar3 very nutritous. It is one of my favorite pass time snack I love them though I have to take them once in a while thanks for sharing.

    • Peanuts are rich in monounsaturated fats, the type of fat that is emphasized in the heart-healthy Mediterranean diet. Studies of diets with a special emphasis on peanuts have shown that this little legume is a big ally for a healthy heart. In one such randomized, double-blind, cross-over study involving 22 subjects, a high monounsaturated diet that emphasized peanuts and peanut butter decreased cardiovascular disease risk by an estimated 21% compared to the average American diet.

In addition to their monounsaturated fat content, peanuts feature an array of other nutrients that, in numerous studies, have been shown to promote heart health. Peanuts are good sources of vitamin E, niacin, folate, protein, and manganese. In addition, peanuts provide resveratrol, the phenolic antioxidant also found in red grapes and red wine that is thought to be responsible for the French paradox: the fact that in France, people consume a diet that is not low in fat, but has a lower risk of cardiovascular disease compared to the U.S. With all of the important nutrients provided by nuts like peanuts, it is no wonder that numerous research studies, including the Nurses' Health Study that involved over 86,000 women, have found that frequent nut consumption is related to reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.
