Paul the parrot

How many of you have heard about Carles Puyol Safrocada the Spanish Footballer?  He scored a wonderful goal to take his team to next level in 2010 world cup but this was our famous parrot Paul from Germany  who was predicting all the future wins during that world cup even before the match were scheduled.

Paul predicted 13 times correct out of 14, including the one The Germans lost to Spain which was unbelievable and I heard that in Germany people accused Paul and shouted slogans against him. But his owner   Oliver Walenciak was careful enough to protect him from people who wanted take the parrot for making them a good tasty sandwich.

Jokes apart, that was wonderful, if we get even 10 out of 100 questions answered by a Paul Dick or Harry we shall be very fortunate. I think ninety percent of the problems we have here in our country would be solved instantly.

When we heard that a parrot in Germany was predicting football related tips successfully we were kind of excited. People in India were simply crazy and some of them even wanted to bring here to India. Incidentally I was working in a multinational having head office in Germany and was about to attend a meeting there.

Some of friends told me jokingly standing outside my home in a queue with the request to try and bring this parrot to India as it could predict so many serious problems we’re facing here.  In fact I assured them that I was seriously planning to apply for migration of that parrot to India.

However it was nothing more than a joke but I am sure if we had managed to bring that parrot to India he would be treated with utmost respect as people fully believed that parrot had magical powers and fully able to solve some of our problems. They thought the parrot would help us learn at least where we were missing out despite our best efforts.
