During the Chinese New Year, the Chinese will prepare some special varieties of food and snacks for celebration and treats the relative when they pay a visit during the festival.
One of famous snack is fried chips, all these look like potato chips but we normally deep fried the chips instead of toasted them. In Asian countries, we will served with fried arrowhead chips, prawn chips and fish chips.
Among the three types mentioned above, the arrowhead chips is the most special one because the arrow head only be harvested or able to be sought during the Chinese New Year festive period, not other season of the year.
The arrow head can be get in the Chinese wet markets or supermarkets which sell some of the Chinese New Year festive foods or ingredients.
Ingredient:
1. 1 KG arrowhead
2. ¼ tsp salt
3. Cooking oil
The ingredient is simple yet easily to be sought while the preparation just need to be deep frying only, not much technique needed.
Steps:
1. Trim off a surface of the arrowhead till see and get a clean surface.
2. Peel the arrow head with a peeler.
3. Put enough cooking oil in the wok and fry the arrow head slides on medium heat.
4. Able to pick up the slides once see the slides are turn into light golden colour and no bubbles seen in the wok.
5. Remove the slides onto a paper towel to absorb some oils.
