Party Planning In Advance

School is almost done here and that (for me) means two things… Summer is coming fast and so is my daughter’s birthday party.

With having a birthday party this close, I try to start planning almost a year in advance (or at least finding ideas for it.) This year she has requested a Minecraft birthday party. For those of you who may not know what Minecraft is let me explain a bit.

Minecraft is a videogame (we have the Xbox360 version but it comes in many versions) that you play as a character and work your way to earn experience and the ability to build many different items. My children play in creative mode as it has all the items that they need without having to hunt for them. I have tried to play this game and have found that it is not really my thing. There are many enemies in the game too, such as creepers (green wiggly things with black eyes that hiss and then explode in an attempt to end your game), zombies and skeletons with bows and arrows just to name a few.

Now that you know something about this game, I will tell you what I have found via Pinterest and Etsy. First off their came the daunting task of picking out a cake, thankfully my daughter already had one in mind. She pulled up YouTube and showed me the cake she wanted.  After finding out that she had the cake in mind it was up to me to find everything else.  After some time surfing Pinterest I was able to find a few things like grab bag ideas and food items but not much else.

I have recently found Etsy and I am very happy with what I have found on there as far as Minecraft is concerned. They have little pixel items ( made from Perler beads), different types of grab bags already made and lots of different grab bag ideas also I found some Ninjango items for my son’s birthday party too.

My advice when planning a party, check out Pinterest and Etsy you might get some ideas you never thought you could find.

    • ermmm... good idea.
You can get some nifty tricks of party ideas from both sites.
I would also go for buying sites like 11 streets and zalora for kids gifts.
You get them locally cheaper than purchasing online.

As for summer, here there is only hot weather, kids rather stay indoor because the scorching heat could land oneself into sunburn and heatstroke.

Indoor activities are fun too with kids and parents.
Provided parents could just lay off their hands from the laptop....:)

Have a nice party and enjoy!

    • I never cease to be amazed by all the ideas you have for the kids' parties! If we lived in a bigger city, I could see you having a thriving party planning business :)

    • @peachpurple Here we have warm weather but not overly hot lately which is odd for us. I didn't think I could find any more ideas but I was able to purchase digital invitations this evening for both my children which is nice.

      • @ruby3881 I wish I could do the party planning business but it just wont work here. I still have to get off my butt and figure out 2 of your kids' cakes but they are fairly simple which helps. :) I just have to order my flavorings asap and go from there. I am so happy to be able to print off the kid's invites as soon as I get printer ink that is.

    • @kmmcormick2 Did you design your invitations, or did you download a printable? Can't wait to see them!

Your suggestions are good. I will get there. Nothing like adding more surprises.
