Orchard Thieves Cider Review!

It is almost autumn over here in Ireland. So it is almost time to ditch the beers and cocktail drinks – and swap with your favorite glass of wine instead. Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t talk about one of my favorite drinks (so far) when the days get a little bit warm!
Summer is definitely my favorite time of the year. It does not get too hot here unlike in my home country where summertime is almost equivalent to people ending up with a heat stroke. But there are days when the sun is shining brightly outside, it’s as if it’s inviting people to get out of their homes, grab a cold drink and bathe in the sun!
Paying for drinks in a restaurant can be expensive and some would charge you for double (or triple) the prices in comparison to what you pay for if you get it from a grocery. Because of that, my husband and I sometimes keep a few cans (or bottles) of alcoholic beverage at home for times we fancy having a drink with our dinner.
Since I don’t drink beer, I resort to drinking cider. Cider is an alcoholic beverage made from apples. I don’t know the technical component of the drink but I can compare it to an alcohol version of apple juice! I drink a number of cider brands but so far, my top favorite is this cider from Orchard Thieves.
Orchard Thieves cider tastes crisp and really refreshing! I can mistake it for sparkling apple juice because the alcoholic component is not too strong. Apart from that, there is no bitter after taste unlike Bulmer’s (the other cider brand I drink). It is easy very easy to drink and quite refreshing, too!
I also love the fact that it is not overly sweet unlike Koppaberg (another cider brand I buy). Even when I am dining in a restaurant, I usually ask if they have Orchard Thieves first before anything else!
I just wish that more restaurants offer this on the tap instead of just by the bottle, though. I know that it costs a lot more if buying from a restaurant but since I also love to eat out, it is common for me to buy something to drink to accompany my food. Unfortunately for this brand, though, it seems that there are not many restaurants having this as part of their alcohol list. So for this reason, I have to go for my secondary cider option such as Bulmer’s or Koppaberg. I just hope that as it gets popular, restaurants would have it from the tap.
Overall, I am really happy with this product. Despite being a new drink discovery for me, it easily became my favorite and go-to drink easily! Of course, enjoying it during the warm summer season is the typical time of the year to have this drink but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a glass during the cold autumn season!

      • Good for you :) I don't drink alcoholic drinks to the point of drunkenness but just a nice cold drink every so often with meals, too.
