Captain Bhaskaran and Anti-Aircraft Regiment AARG89 Unit Officer Jaydeep were sweating from the heat of the fires over the ground.
They were safe in the bunkers beneath the ground and covered with thick vegetation to make it look like a plain grassy area and prevent air attack by the Xanade planes.
Suddenly Captain Bhaskaran got a message on a computer system console.
He said to Jaydeep “Activate Night Tigers Roar mode.”

Jaydeep went to the anti-aircraft gunners nearby in a special enclosure and told
“Activate and engage.”

Meanwhile, the Eagle Fighter planes had slowly covered 5 Kms to the Centre from the West direction in stealth mode and at a lower altitude.

Bonx in XN1 was wondering whether they will meet any resistance going forward. As per Ronh’s talk, resistance was unlikely as per their inputs.
Suddenly, he saw a ball of light coming towards him. There was some sound too.
It came near him. He tried to steer his plane away. But it was too late.
The anti-aircraft fire struck his plane viciously.
It spun out of control and the blast lighted the sky.
The Night Tigers were in full roar and the guns hit XN3, 6 and 7.

Time for Air Duel

“Captain Tamzer some bad news……”

“Ronh steer clear… I am coming fast.”

With 4 in “The pack of 7” down, the middle and rear planes had to come up and bolster the strength.
Communication was also sent to the Xanade centre to send in more planes if required as backup.

Ronh in XN1, XN4 and 5 now took a slight northward course, aiming for the Eastern sector.
They also gained in elevation.

Air Warrior Gheng in XN4 was an experienced one. He had faced such situations before. But he knew that they just had to weather the adverse situation a but more, and then follow on the plans.
He had flown eastwards for around 10 minutes, and could see some buildings beneath.
“Could be an extension of command centre, or some kind of a Training centre.”
Suddenly he felt something approaching. He switched on special Fog Lights, as the winter sky was slightly unclear.
There was fire, and at an increasing speed. He could make out three fighter planes, one above another.
He fired back.
But he felt smoke coming out of rear.
“Ronh.. my side engines have been hit.”
There was a loud blast, and he could utter no more.
The plane nosedived to the ground below.

XN71 and 65 had joined from the Middle formation.
XN65 too came under hostile plane fire. However he shot down one of the planes.

He came face to face with one more plane. He fired a volley of fire and bombs.
However, the plane manouevered and turned 180 degrees.
In its place, another plane commanded by Air officer Susheel came from behind, and went through in front of XN65, almost missing it.
XN65 took a sideways turn.
However, the first plane took this moment to target 65 in its cross-hairs and took a deadly aim.
There was a huge blast and XN65 too went XN4 way.

In no time, 71 and two planes from rear formation too met the same way.
The fightback had begin and the Night was alive and awakened.

Ronh and Tamzer had to think something fast………
