One needs to dream before setting a goal

Solitaire

I kept on dreaming as I could see the possibility of my dream becoming a reality on the horizon. With full co-operation from my husband that dream I knew would be fulfilled and fulfil it did.

The creativity in me was beckoning me to do something that will be there for posterity. When that thought kept me haunting happily I had to chase it.

One fine day the situation presented itself in that my husband bought me a piece of land in a semi rural town close to our home town. That was the beginning. I pondered over the thought of giving up my job and paying attention to my thought and thus SOLITAIRE was born.

I was no architect but somehow I was able to draw a plan on paper. After filling my dustbin with scores of ideas one plan saw its end to create SOLITAIRE.
Every thing that went in there was selected by me. With an engineer to see to the strength of the building and a supervisor my dream became a reality.

I had to comb the market for every single item that finally went in to my design.

SOLITAIRE has 31 glass louvre windows, 3 bedrooms of which 2 are upstairs, a hall, a kitchen and a pantry downstairs. The hall has a section for sitting, dining and the entertainment area. The dining area leads to the kitchen which has no dividing wall. The passages allow smooth and private movement from one space to another. There are steps connecting the upstairs from inside as well as outside.

We did all this with least funds but when one has a dream and a determination everything falls in place.

I took care of everything starting from designing the interiors on paper and then engaging different craftsman to finish the job. We had an engineer to take care of the strength while the layout was my creation and a supervisor to supervise. .

It took about a year for my dream to become a reality.

Landscaping

My experience as a landscaped garden designer came in handy to create a design around SOLITAIRE. The landscaped garden has several fruit trees, a waterfall, a birdbath, lots of flowers and paths.

Terrace Garden

The lawn on the terrace keeps the downstairs hall pretty cool. I also have a few rose plants in pots.

There is a spring in my step each day when I up early morning as I know I have pleasant tasks to perform giving me full satisfaction.

    • Just to say I am in the process of buying my first home and I'm having a little bit of difficulties but I would like my dream home to be brick at least at the bottom the bottom I really would prefer the house to be no less than 2000 feet and I would like a marble bathroom with a jacuzzi tub with steps coming out of it and a his and hers sink made out of marble I would like tile all the way throughout the house except in the bedrooms a huge living room and a huge kitchen with black and silver appliances with a small island and of course a master bedroom with a walk-in closet like I already have and a finished basement with carpet and I huge gated backyard for my puppy to run wild in and last but not least a two car garage for my truck and my car.
I did go see my first house the other day and I was not pleased because everything was perfect except the bedroom in The Green Room the ceiling was falling in and I don't have the money or the time to fix that so I have a long journey ahead of me because I thought I was done but I'm not but I'm still excited and can't wait to purchase my first home
