Nobody prepared me to this

During this winter I lost my job, but not because I was fired or something like that but because one of my elderly family members was forced to take a person for a home care.

The hospitals and therapy institutions can provide only a partial care, so one of us in family had to stay home caring for this person.

I will not say who that is, out of respect for my family, but I think it was quite very unfair to condemn me to this task. I think it is unfair that some jobs have to be only woman tasks and not man’s who is to be honest bigger and stronger.

I will only say it is a male family member with edgy behavior.

I have edgy behavior so two of us was no pair to inhabit not same room, but same country.

You have to understand I have no medical training of any kind and I had no help during nights to manage my elderly family member who was more in trouble with me then I was.

I was completely unprepared what to do and how, and I had no idea what will happened to me and what I can expect.

All people I know from family suddenly block and wall themselves away from this task, which is quite unfair. I could not believe these are the same people I share so many family lunches and dinners.

We are all friendly and close, but for some reason things changed with this case. It was like everybody were tossing hot potato and it landed right in my lap when I was not watching.

I was hit the most how insensitive they talked about my job, like I was not even there. I had a nice job that fulfilled all my emotional and physical needs, regardless on a few setbacks I experienced.

But, when all settled down suddenly there is some serious obligation to perform, just because nobody else wishes to do it. Nobody else was asked to sacrifice their job.
